Animal House. I think it was a double feature but I dont recall the other movie, i do remember we won a pair of hand knitted socks with different colored toes at the raffle...
Can't remember, but we didn't see any movies when we lived in Hong Kong 67 / 68, but I do remember seeing 2001 when we got back in late 68, so that's my guess. (Might have been a disney movie before that)
As a kid we went to the Branford drive in every Friday night for a new Disney movie.... that darn cat, witch mountain, herbie, flubber, bedknobs and broomsticks, too many to count
The first movie that impacted me forever was star wars. It utterly consumed me. Lol
Who can remember that shit. I could never possible recall that. I might have been 1 year old when I saw a movie in a theater. And what a bullshit stoner thread.
I probably saw that many times as our next door neighbor worked for Disney Studios and watched many a Disney movie when he would bring home reels of the classics to his home in Canoga Park in the early 70's. We would watch all the great Disney movies for free on a screen in his yard.
The first movie I remember seeing was The Amityville Horror. It was at the drive in theater. We went in a large Ford LTD station wagon. My parents drove. Four of my older siblings hid on the floor under blankets and my sister and myself sat on top of them. We were free because of age. My parents only had to pay for themselves. When we parked, all the kids emerged from hiding. It was like a clown car exodus. The thing I remember the most was being allowed to set up lawn chairs on the roof! I absolutely loved it. I'm sure there were other first films, but this one is the memory stand out. If I remember correctly, it was a double feature with The Little Girl Who Lives Down The Lane. I fell asleep for that one.....
but the 1st real movie that i remember making an impression was the release of Star Wars. My dad took me to see it at Grauman's Chinese Theater in Hollywood. Was just after it was released. mind blown.
First time I tripped in a theater was The Exorcist. It had an intermission before the exorcism. We didn't talk much at the intermission or after the movie,, till the next day.
First Movie my parents didn't take me to > Easy Rider
< dosed for a theater movie
Return Of The Jedi
Incredible sound and vision, all the movie's lessons hit me hard. Good, evil, God, family bonds, appreciation of nature and wildlife, love your enemies,,, an absolutely perfect trip
When I was just 3 and a half years old, my dad took me to see One Million Years BC. I'm pretty sure he told my mom he was taking me to the park or something and seeing a Raquel Welch movie. I remember the dinosaurs and that it was scary.
I am not sure if it was my first movie in a theater, but it’s my first memory , Young Frankenstein in Cedarhurst Central Movie Theater in Cedarhurst, NY (now a shopping mall) . I was with my mom and remember the two of us laughing so hard, especially the scene when Igor (Marty Feldman) meets Gene Wilder at the train. I almost peed in my pants. Great Memory.
