Listening to right wing call in over lunch. The answer is to rebuild all schools with a back door on the classrooms so that kids can escape when there are shootings. Can we pay for this with a massive tax on guns then?
Yes, there are answers that other countries have found, and this brand of freedom is a bloody mess brought to you by the NRA and those like Ender who would prefer to do nothing to stop the gun violence and mass shootings.
We can quickly do buy-back programs, solidify and unify the background check process, reconcile what weapons are/aren't appropriate for modern times, etc. Maybe we can pray some, too (pray that the NRA blows up).
1980 - President Jimmy Carter signs the Mental Health Systems Act, which aims to restructure the community mental-health-center program and improve services for people with chronic mental illness.
1981 - Under President Ronald Reagan, the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act repeals Carter’s community health legislation and establishes block grants for the states, ending the federal government’s role in providing services to the mentally ill. Federal mental-health spending decreases by 30 percent.
2009 - In the aftermath of the Great Recession, states are forced to cut $4.35 billion in public mental-health spending over the next three years, the largest reduction in funding since deinstitutionalization.

>>>Most, however do have a history of domestic violence.
This guy was no exception. The cops were at his house a couple of days ago for a domestic violence incident (he ended up killing his wife and stuffing her body in the floor boards). Amazingly, the shooter was out on bail for stabbing his neighbor and was under a protective order. Local sheriff should have confiscated his guns.
Not sure what the worst part of that tweet is. The hollow "May god be with", the form letter style tweet itself where he neglects to change the site of the latest shooting or the atrocious grammar of has arrived. What a mess he is.

Yeah, why even try restricting access to guns or getting some of the millions of guns in our country off the street.

Not necessarily- not all
Not necessarily- not all people who commit mass murders have a history of mental illness. Most, however do have a history of domestic violence.
you can have the best mental health care in the world, but if Americans have easy access to assault weapons there will continue to be mass shootings.
