There does seem to be a real upwelling of resistance to these. Grass Valley just banned them and I think we will see more.

Also they can't even get Grand Juries to bring charges against people destroying them.

Get the flock outta here.

Seems like some of the red hats around here destroyed most of them, sheriff canceled the contract shortly after

my guess is having to police a county wide fleet of privately owned cameras from vandalism just isn't feasible

Whatever it takes I'm 100% fine with

I don't have a deep philosophical problem with surveillance cameras in public places. I don't know how much crime they prevent but they certainly help with catching the criminals, and since I don't commit crimes I don't really care if someone is watching me in public.

The main problem is as always how the technology can be misused by those in charge of it.

I don't know much about these Flock cameras, but given modern technology and the inherent flaws in humanity I'm not sure it matters if these particular devices go away, because the abusers are always going to find a way to abuse.

You're being watched... Mr. Kersey.

Although I surrendered most of my lofty aspirations long ago, ending up as a bit character in one of Peter Thiel's fascist wet dreams is more than a little disappointing.

Just wait until Halloween night and see what happens.

The days of trusting these tools in the hands of our government was probably never there but it is absolutely gone now.
