Floop Q&A

Forums:

Hello, All. It's been a while since I've been able to hang, so I thought I'd start something up.

Ask away. I'm yours.

I'll begin with a bit of my recent history: It's pretty much the same.

Okay, so a few things are different. I've seen Melanie C twice now, and I actually enjoyed the second show.

I've also now seen Kim "Kids of America" Wilde, a Brit, live too. She believes that she saw aliens in her back yard.

Hot Chocolate was on that bill too. You know: I believe in miracles... you sexy thing.

sing it!

okay. I've seen more. Focus was in there somewhere, as well as a George Micheal tribute that I also enjoyed.

The kids are good - perhaps way too snotty to each other for my tastes - and healthy and doing well in school.

I haven't spoken to the ex in almost two years, I think. Goood.

Let's see... What else...

I think Social Justice Warriors are crazy fascist types, and certainly NOT liberals. Not really. Maybe an offshoot, sure...

Cloak and Dagger is going well. Anyone watching? Duke?

Also, I've been filling in this chart of ten languages and about sixty grammatical features. It's wicked cool, and I'm learning a ton about how language developed in Europe.

I also have charts for each language. I might try to see if I can sell posters. Can I get a designer?

okay. Ask away. I'll prolly babble shit anyway.

love ya floops! glad to see things are going well for you.

no questions

babble on!

Hey, Hillman. Thanks for stopping by.

Please help yourself to a drink. Snacks are in the next room.

Please come back after trying the mini tacos and tell us what's up with you.

How do you like your eggs?

Okay, some music in here.

Here's a video of Parkpop in Den Haag.

Check it out, you sexy things.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3qCKmigp-EU

I like my eggs on tacos, joy. How do you like em?

Okay, I'm listening to the video and I didn't enjoy Mel as much as I thought. A few songs, I guess. I loved her cover of Moloko's Sing It Back.

I took my youngest daughter to the show, so that's prolly a part of it too.

This is Saturday Night on the Zone these days?

Where'd everyone go?

For breakfast

I’ve been watching the Tour de France this year.

Not me, Slack.

>>>This is Saturday Night on the Zone these days?

Where'd everyone go?<<<

We're tuned into the Northwest String Summit

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YgpLmVLYWm4

So I got some jack herar for tonight and it's quite heady. many be a bit too heady.

maybe I'm just tired.

Nice China Cat so far.

That's nice, Trail. I'll check it out for a bit.

Live is live. That China Cat was recorded.

Yay, Live music!

Orange Mandolin, Wildfire

Very nice, but man it's gonna put me to sleep.

I need rock and roll for this mood I'm in.

but nice. real nice. almost james taylor.

Whats up Floopers?  God to see you posting and doing well.

>>>>I’ve been watching the Tour de France this year

Me too! I can’t believe all of those sprinters dropped out the other day and Peter Sagan isn’t human.

Are there any Grateful Dead tribute bands where you live or any touring ones ever pass by?

Hey, Hoovs. Thanks. God to see you too.

I don't get that much.

Whats ya up to?

How's the fam?

How's your cooking practice?

Hey, Buck. (We had a Bucky already, so I'll call ya Buck.)

I assume that last bit was for me and the answer is NOOOOOO. I wish.

I did see a George Michael tribute that blew the Prince tribute away.

Imagine Doves Cry with no groove whatsoever. Total whiteness. I left offended.

true story

Thanks for the reddit link, Slack.

No Phil in Canandaigua, but goodonya.

So I'm also in the Phil Is Coming To Rochester! thread, and we've got some older Twiddle playing

no stream

and I've gotta say they're almost a Phish clone. I'm sure I'm not the first to say that.

theys got chops.

"Happy 2:30 in the morning"

almost, it's 2:07 here.

Anyone ever see Emily Bear?

I saw this one:

Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto 2 by Emily Bear (16)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=brVZBnIuXTY

Jesus, I've seen John Miles four times now.

Anyone heard of him? I only know him from the Night of the Proms

where he plays every year.

He sure did sing the hell out of that Eric Carmen song.

And Emily was startling. Most of her bit isn't online, unfortunately.

Check her out.

Who's that playing now, Slack?

War on Drugs, they say.

They're okay.

Dude looks like he could be Richie's younger brother.

Hmmm, this tune needs a shaker.

This sucks!

Slow, boring.

And this one is somewhere between Young Turks and Boys of Summer. gross mixture.

I saw the Stewart tribute and that Young Turks killed this one.

Got a bump? I feel all 70s.

Let's sit in a jacuzzi in a Norwegian cabin apre ski.

I'm gonna go feather my hair.

Okay, so did you know that we could grammaticize nearly any option into our language?

Say we want to add a future tense, we do it.

run, ran, rin, run

smile, smiled, smile-i, smiled

poop, pooped, poop-i, pooped

or we could make weak verbs strong again, or for the first time.

smile, smale, smiled

climb, clomb, climbed

We just have to agree.

Young Turks reprise

Okay. I have heard the War on Drugs, and I think they suck.

All their songs sound alike.

NEXT

I went back to last night's Phil show.

Mr. Charlie. nice.

chill competent Jed

Who's the chick?

How have you been, my friend?

I can always count on Chance to enter when I'm rambling overly long :)

Hi, Chance. I'm fine. How have you been, my friend. We've missed you.

I'm sure fatherhood must keep you busy. How's your summer vacation?

Not a bad New Speedway. interesting.

This band is getting better.

Almost over. My son turns four soon. Where does the time go?

What’s this stand for, Floppie?

Go ahead, Alex. Shoot.

Sweet flute into a promising Bird Song..

Glad to hear the kids are well, Floops.

Questions and Answers. What does it mean to you, hipster.

Thanks, Mark. I appreciate it. How's fatherhood on your end?

Wow, I really like this bird song, with the flute and the chick singer and phil. nice.

How do you say ‘HipSter’ in French, Floeppie?

You tell me.

And also tell me why you have to rely on such an asinine vibe. I get the feeling that you're not actually an ass.

Great back and forth with the Bird Song and Other One. Love the flute on this song.

Hello, dear Floop.

>>> Floop Q&A <<<    You’re asking some good questions.

Lovely seeing you and Chance here tonight.

Hi, dear Judit. How are you? yes, it was nice to see Chance again. I hope he returns.

Good questions, yes.

Truckin'.

ugggg

hope the outro's good.

sweet blog

Greetings and salutations Floop.

Did you look at that dog?

>>>How's fatherhood on your end?

It's been great, thank you. My little one is 2 1/2 now and asserting her independence; which is both challenging and also something I really respect.

"Listen to your father!" really means "Fuck that. Never let anybody tell you what to do!" but of course it also means "No, seriously; listen to your father!"

I know you've been there. Glad to see you posting, man!

hi, frank. gotta question?

Hey, Dave. Salutations back atchya.

And do you mean the doglexic dog?

I coined a word tonight.

Mark, I've totally been there. Enjoy it from above. Never get in the middle of it.

That's what i keep telling myself. Teen years are getting nasty here. Tons of test-osterone and estrogen flying around.

Duck!

2 and a half is great. I love the babies.

Do you know the Endless Boogie, flopps?

Good American shit, maybe a little too much for the European set rn

enjoin yr summaire, floeppyjahne

I respect your knowledge of music, so I'll check them out.

Just, please, stop making a fool of yourself. You're better than that.

It's the Wheel. Where did that come from?

I'm getting tired. 5:01

Sweet thread.

Okay, kid. Time for bed for you.

So, I'm here tonight for the show in the Rochester, NY area. Thanks to China-Rider we have a list. Looks like a great show. Can't wait to hear reviews.

Direct your attitudinal directionary projections elsewhere, Floops.

Not looking for trouble with you in English or any other language, neither.

Balmy days to you, ‘Timer.

Oh wait I’ve got one for you Floopers what do you make of the phrase ‘unironic authoritarian’ pretty fucked up no?

>>Just, please, stop making a fool of yourself. You're better than that.

No. He isn’t.

Sorry i missed your q and a, floops

Send out a skywriter or a plane w banner announcement ahead of time next time and ill be there!

Hope all is well.

Endless Boogie is something G’stain jus’ categorically is unable to grasp.

Unironic Authoritarian

Is this a new hip band?

Is it how you see yourself? How you feel?

Which is it?

Hey, Jambone,

All is as it is. Fine at the moment.

Hope you're well.

Maybe next time.

Lol neither the one nor the other,

Floopie Euro friend.

You're drooling.

Why take issue with a poster over a thread, Jaihne?

Reading any good books these days?

You're drooling.

I've no questions, just wanted to say hi to Floops!

Lol whatever you say floops. Sweet thread.

Hey Floops, We will be landing at AMS Tuesday morning at 0830 with a 6 hour layover.  Wife and I are thinking of hopping bus 300 straight to Haarlem to have a walkabout and enjoy the morning weather and get a bite to eat?   Usually we do the train to Amsterdam C, but this time we are going to try something different.  Any tips you could pass along?

Hi, Dise. Good to see you and your garden threads. Keep on growin'.

Thanks, Apex.

Hey, Joe. I'll check it out and get back to you soon.

I'm glad I checked the thread again.

Hello Floops....how's France?

Hi, Ned. How's Mexico?

Yawn

>>Endless Boogie is something G’stain jus’ categorically is unable to grasp.

Endless Boogie = kind of boring ZZ Top-sounding old dudes who never really made it past a regional East Coast scene...

That's what passes for hip now, Attix? You're slipping. There've been some good albums out this year. Endless Boogie ain't got one.

Earthless, Beak>, JjuuJjuu, Suuns, and the new Ty Seagall/White Fence album Joy are some of what's on top of my playlists so far for 2018. Grasp that, hipster.

Sorry to pollute yer Q&A sesh, Floops. Keep bringing us that Euro perspective. The US is not the enemy of the EU despite what stupid Orange Donny has to say about it lately.

Fuck Europe. This place sucks to live in.

I can't wait to get back home to the States.

Hey, JR. Good morning. How do you like your coffee?

Look, Apex, if you're trying to have a cool conversation with me and I'm too out of touch to get it, then tell me that. Otherwise you're just being obtuse and need your nose wiped.

Oh, haven't checked the music out yet. And never saw your question about a good book. Yes, a few. Check out Stephen Greenblatt's Will in the World, a nice contextual treatment of Shakespeare. Also, a group of books with Heraclitus in them, such as Nietzsche's Philosophy in the Tragic Age of the Greeks, A Presocratics Reader, and Heilbronner's Marxism: For and Against. The search for Heraclitus leads past the stative manner and thrives in the dynamic, both in the practical world and in grammar. I've come to see just how English, and specifically American English, fulfills the dynamic - and possibly democratic - way of life. Europe is still utterly Platonic, and by that I mean passive Parmenidean tools.

I also have the book that Stephen King wrote with his son, Owen, but I haven't gotten to it yet. I'm also waiting on the next Game of Thrones. What are you reading lately?

What's going on in here?

Hi again, Floops.
North of northern New Mexico is just fine. Monsoons have finally arrived with much needed rain. I went to see the Bob Weir band last week. Have tix for the Phish (from VT) but concerned about gangs of thugs and wooks and Nazis and shit. Maybe Puddles can bring some extra popsicles to keep everyone happy.

~ out ~

Hey, Tom/Lance. Good question. What's going on is that you ask a question, if you'd like.

It's that easy.

Please do.

 Zoner Salute

Floops, I noticed the windmills are almost always without their sails on them.  Why is that?

Hoi, China. They never have sails, as far as I know, but they still work when needed, which is almost never. Enjoy your time. Where are you?

Howdy Floops!

Hey, whatever happened with your sunken Viking ship?

Hi Floops, I’m in Leiden.  Did you get the email I sent you?

Hey, Hall. Hi.

The viking ship is sunken.

I walk past there sometimes and I think of your gif.

How's life out west?
