He had to comply on some level to get to the point where we was seated on the plane....and was he actually non-compliant with his face-covering, even if it 'may be' in bad "taste" (pun intended) or offensive to some?

All that aside, his "Let's Go Brandon" shirt probably undermines his case a bit but do we have free speech or not?

Not a free speech (first amendment) issue. United airlines is free to set their terms of service and is not a government agency.

For some good laughs, I'd like to see the United Airlines policy that bans "thongs and/or other women's undergarments - or, more commonly referred to as  'panties' - from being used as face-coverings or other saliva-droplet barriers and/or physical shields for the purpose of adhering to Federal air and public transportation statute 420-B-47D..." LOL

And, Yes, Cigar City Brewing kicks out some good ones for sure!
