It's a most pleasant venue. Not far from LGA airport . Subway stop is right there. Surrounded by a residential neighborhood that's not entirely thrilled about the venue.
As a result, the volume level is nice if nobody is talking or singing along out of tune. There is usually a curfew. Every time I have been there it's been lovely.
Saw a king Gizzard show last year. 3 hour marathon set in the rain.
I'm looking forward to Big Thief in October!
The promoter's agreement to get permits for concerts at Forest Hills states a 10:00 curfew. Also the promoter has to hire private security to patrol the local neighborhood. They must also adhere to a certain noise level. But it is a good venue, and as mentioned, easily walkable from the subway. The E,F,M, and R subways stop at Forest Hills, and they add extra cars when concerts end.
Thanks for the info. I am going to book my flight while it is still on the cheaper side. This will be fun, I have never been to NYC. Is there pizza and a dispensary in the area?
Concert ticket and round trip flight from Atlanta for 225. I looked at driving up to bonnaroo for 1 day to see KGLW and it was 250 for a 1 day ticket and 2 tanks of gas in the car.
Seldom do places really resonate with me or stick in my memory but I so much remember feeling like we left New York City while still being in the heart of it all

Looks like you need to go to Manhattan or the Bronx if you want one-stop shopping for pizza and bud.
