Freaks & Geeks

Forums:

Anyone else watch the documentary on Freaks & Geeks last night on A&E?

I was at least mildly entertained (which is good for TV).

That show was like nothing else before it and it has influenced much since.

I would like to see this.  Never heard of the TV show till about a couple of years ago or so either here or on the old zone.

My wife and I binged the show a while back. Damn fine television.

Cool. I'll find it. Thanks.

Hello, gents.

Jaz, Duke told us about it back in the day. I was here in the lowlands already when it aired originally, and I ignored television then anyway, so I knew nothing about it. Great show.

I still use the old you-know-what-happened-to-him line sometimes.

Did anyone from that show fail to get famous?

my teenaged niece likes it...

Wife and I were in TV mode at the time as our first kid was just born.  Gotta say that I still have love for everyone of those kids --- plus Judd and Paul.

Judd Apatow, the creator, or at least one of the creators, speaks volumes of this show, how instrumental it was for his career-despite the fact that it was considered to be, kind of a failure. Only now seems to have a cult following and in a strange twist of revisionist history, gets kind treatment.

The show has had a 'cult' following since it was aired.  It wasn't the typical 26 minute problem=happy wrap up..nerd gets the prom queen...blah blah.  The network & public knuckle draggers, in typical fashion, didn't get it.

There's a reason why almost every single person involved in that show went on to bigger things.

First thing my wife and I binge watched when we started dating because I saw the show when it was on tv and mentioned it often.

Okay, I watched it and loved it. Nice documentary.

I had all this big stuff to say about it, but now I'm too stoned.

tomorrow, hopefully.

Oh yeah, one thing, I didn't know all those other shows they did, or that producer's hand in it. cool.

thanks for the head’s up!  That was awesome, very insightful, and really interesting.

I was so fucking pissed when it was canceled.   Last episode was (obviously) icing on the cake.   Stellar everything about that show:  storylines, casting, acting, writing, chemistry, humor, and just realness.  Fuck you whoever that NBC head guy who never supported its potential (commercial) success.

still waiting Floops... :)
