Against my wishes, we now have a new hamster...Herman the Vermin. I am not a fan of rodents in general, and i do not believe that they should be pets. Unfortunately,  my daughter and my wife both love that little vermin. My border collie does share their affection. 

Any other new additions out there?

When I was about 10 we found a mouse in the kitchen. We named him Herman. We fed him - he was quite friendly.

Then Mom found out and out came the mousetraps.
