The Frogs Are Back In Town !!

Forums:

I'm not sure if they hibernated all Winter,  under the Frozen muck,  or  just repopulated their Favorite spot from other Places.

However,  there they are,  and Green and mucky.

Three are in Frog Sanctuary at present.

The peepers have been going strong for a couple weeks now

I like to enjoy my Morning Coffee and count the Frogs there in Frog Sanctuary.

They seem to enjoy their Habitat and don't make a Ruckus.

Probably eating Millions of Mosquitoes for nutrient.

Those little fuckers keep me awake at night. There's only a few now, but every night a couple more. I like frogs but do they have to do their thing so close to the house?

>There's only a few now, but every night a couple more<

Only a few? I am serenaded by thousands each night

Lumber,  you actually live right next to large bodies of Water -- so Frogs are everywhere.

I'm far from the Ocean and Bay;  it takes some effort to collect enough Water for Frog Habitat.

Working on it is reward enough for the Effort.

I know, Stu, but where does Surf live?

round here, every drainage ditch is a frog habitat.

I love those little creatures, and their big sound.

Ribbit.

International frog lovers of the world unite.

The frogs will be festing this weekend: It's full moon tomorrow... the "worm moon," according to Google.

Maybe that's why I woke up at 2:30 and couldn't get back to sleep for a while. I stepped outside to have a smoke, and it felt like that big, old moon was just taunting me.

^^

Surf resides upon a Coral Reef off the Coast, so I've heard.  He's got it all done up with Lava Lamps and those Bead on string Curtains.

^Must have been tough to secure the permits for such a thing.

Friday night they'll be dressed to kill
Down at Lily Pads Bar'n'Grill
The flies will flow and blood will spill
And if the frogs wanna ribbitt, you better let 'em
That jukebox in the corner blastin' out my favorite song
The nights are getting longer, it won't be long
Won't be long 'til summer comes
Now that the frogs are here again

Joe, I went there in my mind, but wasn't motivated enough to do something about it. Nice work.

Some of the Lyrics here (Copyright Thin Lizzy).

Guess who just got back today

Them wild-eyed boys that have been away
Haven't changed that much to say
But man, I still think them cats are crazy

They were askin' if you were around
How you was, where you could be found
Told 'em you were livin' downtown
Drivin' all the old men crazy

The boys are back in town
(The boys are back in town)
I said the boys are back in town
(The boys are back in town)

The boys are back in town
(The boys are back in town)
The boys are back in town
(The boys are back in town)

There are more lyrics, but that is the gist of it.

And it costs me a heck of a lot to keep that patch of water off the Oregon coast warm enough for coral to grow. I just couldn't do it without that mini fusion reactor.

^^^^^LOL Surf

What's the best way to hold down a frog?

A beer chaser.

You two are crushing me, laugh... wish phone emojis would work here...

I thought this was going to be a snarky political thread about the French.

I heard frogs in the distance last night, which is a bit odd because there's not a lot of groundwater around here.

It's a bit mucky in there from Autumn leaf drop,  so I might scoop out Sanctuary with a colander and use some of those leaves for sections between layers of Spring clippings in the Compost Re*AC*Tors.

They seem to like some nice Fresh water mixed with their Muck.

The Fowler's Toad, (Bufo [Anaxyrus] fowleri) is predominant in these neck of the woods.

I've accidentally stepped on more than a few while out for an evening stroll.

An interesting feeling, barefoot..so are the banana slugs

I wrote a report about frogs once.  In elementary school.  My parents saved it.  I found it in their closet after they died.  I got a great grade, however...it was apparent the teacher had never read it thoroughly;  I had a few incomplete sentences....maybe it was because I didn't understand the subject in full.

I did like the song about the froggy went a courtin' at that same age....

It's all about establishing a Multi-Cultural Frog community in Spring, 2021.

They already understand French,  Spanish and English.

Next Language will be Egyptian; whatever dialect they like will be fine.
A person of Egyptian heritage has agreed to pursue this World-Saving experiment.

I dredged Frog Sanctuary a bit, removing some Leaf Debris, and the Frog Representatives seemed to approve.

Dredging Project was a good effort.  Took out some Leafy debris,  maybe almost a five-gallon bucket full.

I see Four Frogs lounging lately,  and some tadpoles.

They like it there in Frog Sanctuary,  and I like that they showed up to Hang Out.

Saw a huge frogs head at Finley wildlife refuge yesterday. Bullfrog.  Big head.  Not doing well.....chose not to take a photo, as the body was missing....

Ribbit.

Bullfrogs are non-native interlopers here.

And if that roll takes us to France
Teach them Froggies how to dance
