Fyre Festival Documentaries

Forums:

The doomed Fyre Festival has spawned not one, but two new documentaries.  Looking forward to the Netflix one.

I started watching the Hulu one. The whole concept of “social media influencers” makes me a bit ill, so I stopped watching,

I did enjoy the parts about the millennial trustafarians who got caught up in the fraud though. Putting them all on a remote island is a GREAT idea they just need to work out the kinks next time and strand them all there permanently.

if fyre fest had wooks i would have watched these

Pretty sure it did by the time it was all done.

What an absolute mess of millennial humanity. Watched both but the Netflix doc is way better.

Billy McFarland is an absolute sociopath, bordering on Trump type level.

Watched the Netflix one and thought it was interesting.  My wife and I were also chuckling at the 'influencer' label and the marketing impact.  I thought the best line was 'if you're spending thousands of dollars to see Blink-182 that's on you.'

We also had a laugh recalling that some accomodations after Dead shows were similar to the festival. Of course we didn't spend thousands for leaky tents and grilled cheese sandwiches.
