I saw Geese a couple years ago open for King Gizzard at Red Rocks for 3 shows. I gave them a chance and was not impressed. I guess it just wasn't my cup of tea and that is ok. I did see they were the band on SNL over the weekend but did not tune in.

I guess that is what I'm missing. Every time I have tried to intentionally listen to them on head phones I have fallen asleep, but no hate I wish them all the best and Rick did a good job when he played with Phil.
My problem with most of the jam bands is their song writing. You could go to a Grateful Dead concert and not know any of the songs and still be able to sing along to half of them by the end of the song. If you are writing new songs you might as well put some repetition in there because not everyone going to see you live will have time to poke around your music and if they can sing along it will make for a long long crazy crazy night.

Geese' latest album is not very good IMO...but the Brooklyn hipster hype train has left the station. All aboard.
Goose best quality is that they are harmless and provide a nice platform for middle to upper class white people to do drugs.

The Goose lads and Rick in
The Goose lads and Rick in particular, are pretty talented.
However the music just stays in one area and never ventures very far from home. It's mono dimensional.
First time I saw them I thought they were kinda intriguing. 2nd time it was sorta fun. 3rd time bored to tears.
