Brought this up to some folks at the last Nelson show and no one seemed aware or really interested, but I have a hard time believing the majority of people here wouldn't really enjoy this.

anyone going?

Anyone been?

doubt I'll b able to swing it but sure looks appealing.

I don't have a ticket but it's on my calendar.

Those type of shows can be good or sometimes they can be long and disjointed, but I do like the Chapel.

It will likely be a game-time decision.

Aren't tickets only like $25?

no brainer

I don't know anything about the Byrds.

What are the actual songs that these guys do that are worth all the notoriety?

Fifth Dimension is cool but I don't think their albums have aged well. I like their solo stuff better, and McGuinn not much at all.

Gene Clark's No Other is trippy, sad, and great.

I listened to that Sweetheart album a few times earlier in the year.

walstib played me a live sbd of the rustlers covering  Is anybody going to San Antone. was smoking and they were touching at points on that dnb deal....

Ateix hipped me to 'no other' and now I'm convinced it's one of the most underrated albums of the mid 70's.

the notorious Byrd brothers is decent.

the prospect of musicians like molo, sless and Baird digging into any of that material at a cool venue for a low price sounds potentially kinda righteous

>What are the actual songs that these guys do that are worth all the notoriety?

Why does it have to be notorious? Gene Clark was a great singer songwriter who did several awesome records post-Byrds and they are playing his music. Sweetheart of the Rodeo has nothing to do with Gene Clark.

What's funny is that there is a different group of folks in SF who have been doing annual Gene Clark tributes for longer....

I'm not going. We'll be in southern California. Maybe Metalachi that night.

Too bad Knot. They likely won't do any teases, and we all know how you dislike song teases.

Unlike Ween, who do lots of teases.

Metalachi's kinda fun

Bump cause the no other album might b too good for u people

Oh hippiesters....

....this will probably be really good, and just a tad precious.  Hoist a $2 PBR for me.

Let's be real, when was the last time anyone hoisted anything for Java Dave.

Precious and, it goes without saying, a little sensitive.

Did you interrupt something important, fun, or perhaps even sensual, to post that biting response, Dave?

Herbal Dave and Hotnanny should hook up.

It’s getting harder to pay (fractions of) pennies on the dollar for millennials’ dads’ record collections.

Slacker should shut the fuck up and go pay some attention to his kid. At least he admitted earlier in the thread that he doesn't know anything.

Have fun, champ.

Whoa. Think we all need to take a step back, take a hit, and listen to No Other.

thanks, i am just checking out No Other. Not familiar.

I absolutely love the Cosmic Cowboy era + genre.

in the wheelhouse.

One of the guys who works for me is friends with the guys in Sweet Chariot and says they are all pretty psyched for this.

If you like No Other, check out Gene Clark's 80's work with Carla Olsen.

Also, for shits and giggles, check out the New Christy Minstrels Christmas album.  Seated in the middle sleigh is none other than Gene Clark, just before he ditched the squaresville Folk-Era group to join The Byrds.

It's just a little live music in a very cool venue.

What's wrong with that?

Surprising that you chose the sweater vest over the cardigan.   Was this some sort of act of rebellion?

The Gene Clark Tribute show

Merry Christmas/holidays/festivus

This show was a marathon. I had no idea what I was walking into at 8:30 that I would
have to wait until 11:40 for Chris and Company to do a 30 minute set and done (mad
props to the other bands who played here it was not my vibe)

Really cool 60s light show going on

As always dont sell it share it "It's only a memory unless someone records it"

Have a green holidays or whatever floats your boat!

Thanks, brah
