Get the hell out of my line you shoe-less masses

Forums:

The House passed a bill on voice vote that keeps non TSA Pre passengers out of the TSA Pre lines at the airport for “safety” Yep all about safety. Nothing to do with regular people clogging up our special TSA Pre line. We may have to get on the same plane with the barefoot masses but we sure as hell don’t want you in our special shoes on line.

Well nice to see our government looking out for me.

I just printed out my boarding pass for an upcoming trip. It says TSA Pre Check. I've never paid for this, but more than half the time I fly I'm getting to go through the TSA Pre Check line. A couple of times  I stood in the regular line and was told to move to the TSA line - I didn't look closely enough at my boarding pass, but I do now! Anyone know why I'm getting the TSA PreCheck without having registered for it? Reverse profiling?

i've never gotten it.

pretty tired of vip, special circumstance assholes and the like.

My partner just signed up for the TSA pre-check program and on a recent trip, I got to piggy back off her status.

However, whenever I am returning to the US from overseas in recent years, it seems like I always get a big "x" on my slip from the passport reader machines and sent to the "special" line usually reserved for foreign nationals.

When this bill passes you won't get it anymore unless you paid for it. They give it to low risk people to help with the lines in the regular TSA line, but not anymore because of "safety"

Not a big deal, I always expected that I'd have to pay for it and in fact was considering signing up since I've been flying more frequently.  The cost is $85 dollars for 5 years to be able to speed though the lines. Wonder how they determine someone is "low risk" - is it because I'm a white woman? What other information do they have on us to make the "low risk" determination?

If you are going to pony up for TSA Pre Check, you may as well go for Global Entry so you have the same clearance on international flights.

I'm not part of the program but I get Pre Check about 90% of the time. I figure it's because I'm an older white woman who flies the same routes every 2 months or so.

I've also gotten some TSA pre-checks without paying for it.  I'm not sure why but some have told me it could be a combination of age and miles traveled.

That's pretty funny El nino.

I've done too much flying lately.

SFO is a shit show.

Wait until FOM hears about this

My last two flights I got TSA prechk for free, both in the last week or so...  hoping to get it again tomorrow morning!  The more you fly, the less of a risk you are I suppose...

Pre-check is a "hole" in itself.
