Go see the Linda Ronstadt documentary. High recommend.

Forums:

A tremendous film about Linda's life. Great stories with appearances from a who's who of the 70's folk/rock era.

Very touching stories of her family life, and sad to see her dealing with the heartbreak of losing her voice to Parkinson's. But there's a humorous side to that in the film. I found out a lot about her role in the history of the music I love, and in later years, how she continued to blaze her own trail performing in "The Pirates of Penzance" movie, and recording her Mexican music album and subsequent tour. Doing what SHE wanted to do. Extraordinary talent, as evidenced by her operatic singing beginning at the 34:00 minute mark and going for 5 minutes in this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IGzv4vufN-k

sounds interesting

Audience sure loved it. From the looks of these links, lots of other folks did too.

It's a CNN film and one of these links say it will air on CNN later this year. I'll have to look.

Always loved her

I saw the film and agree it is a "must see" if you ever were a fan of Linda Ronstadt!

I will check it out, the interview I read last discussed the type of Parkinson's she has. Mom was diagnosed at 49 and was gone by 62. It wasn't pretty. She was a speech and hearing teacher who couldn't speak. It will be 27 years next week. I wouldn't wish that illness on anyone.
