Going to MSG, first time in 30 years

Forums:

I haven't been to MSG since the GD fall 94 run( my final indoor GD shows also ). I'll be traveling in to catch the Gilmour show and will be headed out right after the show. GPS has me coming in thru Jersey/ Lincoln Tunnel. It looks like parking can be bought ahead of time via a couple apps/companies. Since im on a bit of a time crunch, any advice for parking/ getting out of town quickly? I plan to arrive mid afternoon, grab a bite, hit the show and then bolt as soon as show ends. Does msg have a curfew?

Don't plan on taking a cab or Uber after the show.  Penn Station is in the basement so take a train.

I'd like to park in a garage close enough that I'm walking to my car getting in and driving out of town

One of the lots on 31st street would be the easiest out. It heads west and there's an entrance to the tunnel between 9th and 10th.

Another option would be park at Secaucus train station and take NJ Transit into Penn Station. It's a 10 minute train ride and they run every 10-15 minutes after shows. $30 to park and $10 for the train round trip. Don't have to deal with the traffic.

No hard curfew, band pays for anytime after 11. Enjoy the show!

Thanks Keith (and others), I think that Secaucus option might work best for me

I'm hitting the Wednesday show this week. Looking forward to it.

Fishcane, what night are you going?

Also if anyone is looking, the secondary market is dropping pretty quickly. Additional tix also popping up on TM.

I'll be there weds

Hey Keith is it ok just to show up at Secaucus train or should I grab a prepaid spot to park?

Used the Spot Hero App a couple of weeks ago in SF and it was great. I booked a spot than changed the car I was going to use then canceled that reservation and booked at another garage and it all worked flawlessly and was easy to navigate.

He came on at 7:35 last evening. Tight ship!

Yea spot hero is putting me about a half mile away which is why I'm wondering if that's best or not

Maybe while Gilmour is at MSG, Dolan could dangle a carrot to do some Pink Floyd thing at the Sphere next year

I wouldn't be surprised if one of the Pink Floyd Tribute bands gets booked at the Sphere. I'm pretty sure it would easily sell out.

Brit Floyd is amazing imho and my favorite of the Floyd tributes I've seen

Fishcane this is the place I've used. It's right at the station. Haven't used it in years so I really can't say if it fills up but it's pretty big. If you get there after 3 you should be able to get a spot closer to the station once the first wave of construction guys start heading home.

Make sure you buy your train tickets before you get on the train. They bang you an extra $5 if you buy it on the train.

Got a message for you from a lurker/old Zoner, Fishcane:

Can you let fishcane know in the thread going to msg that there is a garage
on west west31 between 8th and 9th avenue basically less than a block to msg .
I’ve no idea of cost or how long it takes to get your car after a show but
when he gets his car we will be headed west toward Nj I guess that’s his
destination

Thank you!!!!

Yep.  Seen a lot of Faux Floyds and they are the best of the bunch.   They played at least one song off of each album, so you got some deep cuts of early Floyd.  Light show was fantastic and the players all were dressed in black and stayed in the shadows so the spotlight was on the visuals.   Jams were great.  They would first play them out note for note perfectly off the albums then go on to improv for a while.
