Got an Amazon Echo....

Forums:

For an early xmas gift....seems ok, any experts on board  to maximize this puppy, music wise, Casey Jones does not cut it....get the local weather etc.

This is one of those AI gadgets like Google has?

*toke*

I heard you the first time.wink

Yep, you, talk and it responds....is what it is

I got the Tap last summer, same concept. I wanted the portability, so I could take it outside when I work in the garden, or move it room to room. As it's battery powered it doesn't have the full on voice recognition of the Echo (which I may get)

Get "IHeart Radio" and "Tune me in" accounts (put the apps on your phone/ipad), and Alexa will link to them. It will also link to your Amazon Prime music account, if you have one, and Pandora.

The timer is really handy, and so is the alarm. I'm not a shopping list or daily planner type of person, so I don't use those features.

There are a billion features that I don't use or even know about, but the access to music is great. It's also great for trivia. The hands-free voice activation makes it more handy than Ciri.

picked up a echo also. its sitting here in the box. will open when i get bored

I got one last year, still enjoying the music side of it. If you join amazon prime you have tons of music options. I still like the Tune In local radio side of it. Lots of indie stations. If you buy a CD from Amazon you get those songs put into your library and you can listen to those also. You also can make your own set lists and just play it on shuffle.  When I got mine there was only 12 apps, now there are hundreds. Hands free math sport scores and spelling or phone numbers for different things all work great. I agree with everything Brian said. I use mine more than I thought I would. Have fun enjoy your new toy.

I do have amazon prime....maybe that is the key to unleashing it....thx

A few weeks ago I said, "Play the album Blue Mountain," and it played it. I guess, with Prime, you don't even have to buy the albums.

The Tap gets really tinny when it's loud, and I hear the Echo is way better.

Nice....that is  what I'm looking for. For a small tube it has volume in a room

If you pick up a Google Home as well, you can get them talk to each other infinitely...

Isn't this just a way for "the man" to hear everything you say, maaannnnn?

I heard that, Surf, and I can see you too...

Well, If you say nothing then nothing is said....seems like it's doing well hooked up to amazon, albums on request

Bingo Surfdead.
