This was a huge task, restoring two shows of different speeds into a single soundtrack to broadcast quality and then to meet Bluelight's audio quality.

Warner Brothers gave Bluelight the rights, but tagged along by purchasing the rights to a Clare Bow Hula.

Now both Stephen Stills are on Warner Brothers and it  must be a convoluted mess.

They threw Blielight a bone. It may suck lol..

Any way, for me, I think this was my first show since 12/31/82.

It was a very nice day & the entire state was drunk.

Enjoy!

I like whole shows. Are they too huge a task?

You have something in mind? I have 198 HD movies; 35 % are full concerts.

Both YT & I are patient enough for the 2 day uploads

I am now using as much silent film footage to bring down the data weight and jump on longer GD shows.

Trying to warp up all the elements of Shakespearean plays, Drama, Comedy, Romance, with a Bluelight twist off complacency in our universe via of all the sciences known to man kind, to date:

If it can make you dance ~

If it can make cry ~

If it can make you cheer ~

Then  -if this can make you dance, cry, cheer at once,  and if you find yourself still crying, I truly have done my job.

Bluelight ~

Not on this one, unless you are drunk too...

Also the dynamic range (width of sound) as soundboard cassette master from a live mulitrack taping and mix on the fly, blows away the 2 inch Reels of full Multi Tracks tapes by 30 % in the Vault and that we already own:fact:

Where is Thom now?

This has re written the Dead's vault & brought its value up by a good amount of $ in the last day.

Just like last week with my results on the 3/28/86 aud tape. The script has changed & we now a whole bunch more chocolate to put, in that there Peanut Butter ~

"There are many here among us, who feel that life is but a joke.

But you & we've been threw that & this is NOT OUR FATE"

Can you hunker down and spit out the whole 12-30-1986 show?

I was at those '83 swamp shows with Stills.

Did they ever find David Thies?

>>Can you hunker down and spit out the whole 12-30-1986 show?

Yes, I am on right now & the audio is being re mastered right now & will be completed tonight, to find out how long our Mini Movie will be

They next night is a no-no, the band released it as VHS & its the best NYE they have out.

I will post the set list and point out 3 songs that would bring head down -

12/30/86 Recording Notes:

These NYE '86 shows were recorded onto digital VHS via a Sony Pro D- VHS recorder with funny knobs. lol

These were the first digital recordings done by that band, in that town.

Because of the "Funny knobs" and no one was there to teach them how to chase down the SMPTE time codes, the technician - engineer bounced that VHS tape to 3 cassette tapes to make this show

So its second generation = D / A. But take that as a challenge..

The next night 12/31 Dan Healy used the master tape & its the first pure digital recoding & its a very cool video too ~

Came out really really good. I spent a week in that building & I know the acoustics well ~

Will work on the video for it asap

Post Addendum:

That  D- VHS recording of 12/31/86 went through the NEVE console at Club Front, San Rafael, CA.

So its D / A with all-kinds of warm and fuzzy like love through the NEVE and onto the Studer A820 - 24 Track 2 Inch machine {then to the Studer A20 2 Track or Ampex 2 track}

I was able to able to restore 12/30/86 beyond that 12/31/86 show. Plus it needed it, it had not been touched in a decade and no AES Eng ever touched these at any time ~

lol

I forgot the 30 Beat, Beat it Down the line. Its in there too...

night ~

>> Just like last week with my results on the 3/28/86 aud tape. <<

I thought the audio was a tad slow. Seriously. *

*Please note this is an observation about the music, and music only.

Bluelight can you make a mini movie w the third set from 12/31/81 ?

>>I thought the audio was a tad slow. Seriously. *

Hi Ned!

I was looking for you & glad you posted. Back to that.

Your assertion is incorrect on that one (but not on the next one), its results are so-on, you can tune a Piano to it.

Bobby is "wambling" & when that -is-going on- Jerry is usually sharp a notch. Alcohol effects folks differently..

The tape in circulation is a full half step fast, and another I have here from a Zoner, is a 1/4 step sharp.

98 % of all auds are fast & so much so, fans that own the tapes needs to take any iPhone FREE guitar tuner "app" they can SEE for them selves exactly MHz.is at

From I understand Phil is aware of his vocals out of time on every aud of his voice up until this one. So they are logging all the Box of Rains into the script of the vault. He had not one, and by the end of the day he dad a dozen ®

The man is very happy ~

nedb are you with DSO?

I am finding out the record companies I am working-with-do not like DSO & I was notified last night that they are being blocked from Bluelight.

Why don't the big record companies like DSO?

Have they ever released an album?

Slow to my ears. I have listened to this show since 1986. Have heard a variety of different sources. Never seen a sbd of the first set. But, all versions were consistent, except yours seemed a tad slow. You can hear it in the vocals.

>>Why don't the big record companies like DSO

DSO (the VAULT -NUGS) are not hip on HD's capabilities and that is where this all went the last 4 months & instead of asking for help, they masquerade around trying to justify there short comings.

They were just un banned from HD sites a week ago..

Secondly they do not pay royalties and were about step on last nerve & did.

Classic stuff ~

>>>Secondly they do not pay royalties

Right, they pay ASCAP through the venues they perform at.

Why would they need to pay royalties?

I was just going to say venues pay ASCAP and BMI.

Here's the bluelink to the slow audio...any input from the crowd?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uIvPRp7_TbE

I'm also not at all clear about the way you're using the term "HD" in context here, Bluelight. Can you elaborate on that?

>>

Right, they pay ASCAP through the venues they perform at.

Why would they need to pay royalties..>>>

They have about 1000 hours of music that is being shared from these concerts on both bad videos and good recordings.

This was never agreed to by Warner Brothers & ASAP pasy about $80 a show right a year later.

Its is there problem not mine.

Facebook, Twitter, the DOD, Google & YouTube use the same internet security contractors, fyi..

Yes, the venues pay ASCAP etc.

Now, if they officially "released" some covers that would be a different story.

>>>They have about 1000 hours of music that is being shared from these concerts on both bad videos and good recordings

That still doesn't make sense from a royalties perspective, unless DSO is somehow monetizing the recordings?

Also, why would a record label like Warner Brothers be concerned about live performances that are already accounted for in the ASCAP system?

>>>>>Its is there problem not mine.

Where problem?

>>using the term "HD"

For us,in dead-lore- in the audio has now been to able to spin out better-with compelling results, because of the better and faster computation power of the PCs a decade later.

So the ink on the spec was dry, but like all newer FCC specs it was ready for future enhancements

So in the Dead's case-with audio-, we really have never heard what Phil sounded to like Phil, or us from the 4th row-its a whole new ball game.

The last run of upgrades was 10 years ago & were not done by the HD-PC friendly ~

Then with me, I am working with- some pro software folks in the Film field who are blown away with what results I have come up with. No one is talking..

It seems to have been much more to meet the eye /ear, then I thought.

But it has to be wrapped in HD to get that 3rd missing dimension.

No offense Bluelight but I had to give a thumbs down YouTube review for this one.

Bluelight I'm sorry, but what you're saying about "HD" there doesn't actually have any real technical distinction as far as I can tell.

You are working with audience tapes of GD shows here, correct?

>>Here's the bluelink to the slow audio...any input from the crowd?

I was there and high as a kite. It was also my first show. I've been progressively slower and slower since then, so it sounds about the same to me.

But what do I know? I don't think that DeadCo is that slow either.

>>No offense Bluelight but I had to give a thumbs down YouTube review for this one.

No that's cool, no problem they contact me right away when you & the 3 others here do that, as they see that you folks here-don't watch them, you find them and click it right away.

Films are not critiqued that way in America by respected critics and will not be on YouTube as a slam

So for you & the 3 others here that are doing that, we will let you do that, but at the end of the month all of your votes be it on a or Cell-phone or-PC will equal only one vote -in that entire-state

I am working with the IP security & Software code writers as we speak.

Click away just know that it in no way-is-it anonymous, but no problem by me.

Disliking somebody's videos on YouTube doesn't constitute a security issue or a violation of YouTube's terms of service, Bluelight. FYI.

You've made several statements in this thread that don't make any sense to me. Can you please answer my questions?

>>Films are not critiqued that way in America by respected critics and will not be on YouTube as a slam

Disliking somebody's videos on YouTube doesn't constitute a security issue or a violation of YouTube's terms of service<<<

No but slamming is and that is their point & they are not backing down.

Do need a copy of YT's T&C's, you just let me know

But after that I made my point, they agreed & my site is now Film channel & new code is being written as we speak.

You are 14 steps away from film.

>>>Do need a copy of YT's T&C's, you just let me know

Go ahead and post the relevant policy you feel has been violated by people disliking your videos, Bluelight. I'll be happy to take a look.

Also, you still haven't answered my questions about DSO or "HD".

The sound is just too muddy and treble to high. Nothing personal, just an objective observation.

You spam these videos to us 24/7, the least you can expect are some of us giving our opinion.

Lastly, I'm still waiting on those emails from Judit. Maybe remind her to send them to me?  Thanks kindly.

Actually, JR, it’s a subjective observation. Either way, it’s fine. When one puts something out in public view, of hey have to deal  ugh both objective and subjective reactions, positive and negative.

A few years ago I went to MoMA. Subjectively, half the shit on the walls was just shit. It would be like an artist standing next to his exhibit and calling security every day one someone said something negative.

If one doesn’t want to deal with public reactions, don’t make it public. Fuck, every time I post on here I’m risking a lot more than a thumbs down on the YouTubes.

I like you, Bluelight, but dude, it would behoove you to chill a bit.

The amount of drugs involved in all of this must be absolutely staggering.

One can only hope.

I picture a saucy eyed, barely 100 lb man, who has a computer desk surrounded by booby traps to defend himself from "shadow people".

>>I like you, Bluelight, but dude, it would behoove you to chill a bit.

Sure man.

I am doing this for free, just they way I want though. Just so you know.

I get it. It’s your labor of love. That doesn’t mean that everyone has to love it. You put it out there in public and you have to take what you get. Shit, JR is probably gearing up to jello wrestle me because of these posts. It would a what it is.

Hi Brain, I  said it may suck in my first post.

>>They threw Blielight a bone. It may suck lol..

Listen I noticed a while back that you have a little bit of reading comprehension problem on the net do wear glasses my man?

Please Brain, you need to slow down a bit & read these threads sequentially or your rebuttals are out of context, make no sense, or can get you in hot water for un related reasons then the ongoing discussions.

Good pot and too much coffee can do that. Use the scrollbars on the side. Then if I need a beating, ok then

Colorado is no where near "Broadband' ready- and is a full decade behind most of America.

You can Google that.

Lol

what about vt? do we have HD?

this reminds me of the old zone.....sigh

I agree Bluelight. BK needs to work on his reading comprehension.

xxoo

He's an English teacher, no? Brian?

No floops.  He's a fill time Viva and .net poster.

One can only comprehend what’s comprehensible.

Im cimfuzed

i am not understanding why you need to "work with" youtube on gd shows set to weird movie clips?

what am i missing?

+

How was the black screen for you all in 4 months.

What did you see or learn?

I went to those shows with another Zoner.  Was on the floor. Phil dropping bombs. Jerry was motivated. Great sound.  Tapes were perfect.

How did that happen?!?!

Time travel

Beam me back scotty!!!
