Twas a few nights after St. Stephen, that I shall not remiss.

A cool clear autumn day, leaves and colors all in a bliss.

All the creatures were stirring; awaken, even a mouse.

Hold on to your hat music lovers, "The Fat Man" is rocking the house!

Ah, the famous Sugaree.  Longest GD version? At least for the time period, made this show notable. Rest is ok. You get the most memorable song first song, first set, straight outta the gates  devil

Bird Song, To Lay Me Down & the Terrapin Station are some of the best versions of that decade.

I could only go to Syracuse on this tour. Missing this was a major bummer.

Went to this one,  and it was really Quite enjoyable on every level.

We drove some old Van from Montréal there and back again.  There were a bunch of us University students.  I'm thinking two Marks,  Amanda,  Claire  and  another Girl,  + DS (moi).  Maybe an Eric also.  It was a spacious Van.

NY state cops pulled us over on the way home maybe near Lake Saranac (?) and let us go on the way.  Maybe there was a tail-light out.

I can still recall the cop's funny dialogue:  "Oh,  Grateful Dead.  Do you have any other drugs in the vehicle?"  We all thought that was a bit weird.

34 years later it's just a bit foggy,  but I think we stayed in Burlington,  VT 'overnight'  before crossing the Canadian border.

But that seems impossible,  as I was at the Portland, ME show the next night.  So maybe all of us went to Portland and then drove back for midterms.

I wish that I'd kept better records,  and had a small digital camera.

Thank goodness there are excellent audio recordings angel

Lake ACID is more like it

Reflecting for a moment,  Eric was definitely along for the ride,  as he was the guy who ate that extra dose or two and was struggling with  mental problems at Dawn in Burlington.

First the Olympic Arena revealed itself as a convenient Space-Ship,  which was carrying all of us to another planet to carry on Humanity.  Earth was just done in some nuclear catastrophe.  But then everyone turned into Skeletons,  which rather freaked Eric out.  I could sort of sympathize with his dilemna  i.e. {("how are a bunch of Skeletons going to reseed Humanity  on another Planet ??")}.

But  I could only say  "Just because you ate too many doses doesn't mean you should keep the others awake.  And by the way,  I'm a pterodactyl."
