Grateful Shred

Forums:

Anyone heard of this band?  They are coming through town and their names suggest they do things I might like.  Are they any good?  They are playing a venue that usually attracts fairly established bands so I figure they aren't just some locals playing for beer money.  What sayest thee, zoner bredren?

Strong youtube game. I'd hit it.

What's up Alias,

I was going to check these guys out up at Crystal Bay few weeks ago but couldn't justify the 45 min drive to see a gd cover band. That said, a co-worker/taper did end up going and raved about them. They played the small Red Room for free and he said they had an over the top sound system and light show for the scale of the venue and had no idea and were bummed to find out CBC had an actual stage/room (Crown Room). I think he may have said they played the best Wheel he has ever seen (he only saw the GD from 93 on and goes to Dead Co so take that with a grain of salt...).

If it's close I'd say go check 'em out.

Its hella close.  Thanks for the info, sounds encouraging.

I like that they actually posted this on their website:

"Wait – I know what you’re thinking. Another fucking Grateful Dead cover band?"

Good, cheap GD music.  Unlike the old men laugh

"Grateful Shred?"

What my kid said upon hearing his first Scofield Althea lead.

I would go see them if I could.

I think this video is fun, eventually the cops shut it down but looks like a good time!

you guys are all just being manipulated by youtube algorithms - ateix knows

Set break on the stream

They're no JRAD, but it was preferable to hearing another stream of Bobby putting the hurt on a Jerry ballad.

When they finished, I was able to back up the stream to the beginning.  The singing is hit-or-miss.  But that seems to be the case with most post-GD-GD thingies these days.

It was even the case with actual GD thingies in the 60s/early 70s.

Ardmore was a fun time.  Love those $7.50 shows!  The bass player killed it!cheeky

How are these guys different from JRAD?
