Today is the 30 year Anniversary of my last GD show I saw with my parents. I really wasn't into the GD at this time, I was more into Punk but my folks said Jerry's back it might be your last chance. So off to California we flew. I think our pervious show together was the freebie in the park in May of 75 or it might of been the Who/GD Day on the Green in Oakland....anyway this is the first one with them I really remember. It felt like a family reunion. I didn't know anyone but they all felt like old friends and aunts & uncles. I used to be a wonderer, never payed much attention to the band, my teenage self was mostly interested in the girls in the crowd. I spent most of the show wondering the hallways, half looking for my missing father &  half searching for any kind of fun I could find...I was in a seat for the Candyman I can tell you the love in the was real, even if I didn't understand it yet I could feel it....Happy Friday everyone. It's hard to fathom where the time and the people that occupied it go. All that GD world seems like a million lifetimes ago, yet once in a while the memories bubble back to the surface and you can almost smell the patchouli and cheap weed....

The 47th anniversary of my first GD show is coming up in 13 days.

Wow.

It does seem like a million lifetimes ago, but at the same time it also feels like yesterday.

Time and all that stuff

All a dream we dreamed...yet very real when you open up to it.

cool story!

Nice story Canyon - thanks

Cool story Canyon.

Happy Friday!

I drove in for these with a friend from Vail. A bottle of 300 mic drops and a gram of glass shards of speed from Vista for the ride home. We went to all three,  Ronnie lost his shit when the Neville's came out. He thought we had been transported band and all back to the sixties and ANYTHING was possible. By the time we got back to vail the bottle was empty and the gram was gone too. It was a fear and loathing weekend......one of many.

Atta' boy Canyon.

I don't know if I was an old friend or an uncle, but I was at that show as well.

Such a night.
