Happy holiday to all who celebrate <3

Good one Judit. Happy Hanukkah to all!

IMG_5020_3.jpegIndeed!

Yes indeed, Happy Chanukah in these perilous times. Wishing peace in Israel and Palestine.

Well maybe I'm only dreamin' and maybe I'm just a fool      But I don't remember learnin' how to hate in Sunday school

But somewhere along the way I strayed and I never looked back again    But I still find some comfort now and then

Then the storm comes rumblin' in And I can't lay me down  And the drums are drummin' again And I can't stand the sound

But I believe there'll come a day when the lion and the lamb Will lie down in peace together in Jerusalem

And there'll be no barricades then  There'll be no wire or walls

And we can wash all this blood from our hands    And all this hatred from our souls

And I believe that on that day all the children of Abraham     Will lay down their swords forever in Jerusalem

The best breakfast burritos have latkes inside!

Man those look so good

Happy Hanukkah to all

Happy Hanukkah to all who celebrate.

Suprised to see you here Dise.

Trailhead, exciting latkes. heart

Wishing everyone health and peace in their lives...     what a long strange trip it's been!!!

Happy Chanukah, and yeah, those latkes look tasty. I might have to whip up a batch tonight.

I don't know you, so your surprise is weird, but happy holidays!

Oh I get it because I'm anti-genocide and pro-peace you're implying that means I'm antisemitic. Anyhow. I don't blame an entire people for the war crimes of a few. Everyone deserves a right to exist, hopefully with love and joy in their lives. I wish that for you as well, internet stranger. heart

No, you don't get it.

Your  Antisemitism  is on full display with your  refusal to condemn HAMAS,  and BS whataboutisms.

I never refused to condemn Hamas you weirdo. Everyone has a right to exist in peace and as I said in my post above I don't hold an entire people responsible for the war crimes of a few. This thread is a peaceful one. Please don't ruin it.

The seasons greetings from a blatant antisemite ruined it, dear.

"Denial ain't just a river in Egypt."

The holidays are hard for some people and I understand you're feeling a lot of things rn but projecting hatred onto me is just silly. Get a hold of yourself. Touch grass. Or smoke some. I wish you peace and joy.

I am not projecting any hatred. You really don't get it that when one  posts anti semitic shit on the internets they're going to be judged as being an anti semite. It's really that simple.

Anyhow. I wish everyone peace and joy this holiday season, including nancy.

U.S. service members perform 'Ocho Kandelikas' for Hanukkah!

Who even new that there was a Jeudio Spanish Hanukkah song?
Judaeo-Spanish or Judeo-Spanish Hebrew, also known as Ladino is a Romance language derived from Old Spanish.

HAPPY   HANUKKAH!

I saw that on PBS NewsHour today, Dave. They were into it!
And good to see you.

The International Space Station clip made me think of Mel Brooks "Jews in Space "

Night 4

David Feldman:

'In the West Kootenay, where I have the good fortune to reside, one of the impacts of colonialism is to have created some complexity regarding Indigenous territory. One group that lived in and used these lands was declared extinct by the colonial government although they were still very much extant south of the border. These issues are working their way through the Canadian court system and I am definitely not an expert but I wanted on Chanukah to make an observation about a parallel with some current events.

You see many people I know in the region feel strongly that the group displaced by colonialism have a right to return to their traditional territories which they only gave up because they were driven away by colonial oppression. They frequently cite archaeological evidence about whose territories these were.

Many of these same people do not feel that the tribes of Israel have a right to return to their traditional territories from which they were driven by colonial oppression though there is similarly substantial archaeological evidence of their claims to the land.

Honestly the parallel is so strong and striking that the only explanation I can think of is that people think Indigenous peoples should have the right to live in their traditional territories … unless the people are Jewish.

As my uncle Sam who had a great but somewhat bitter sense of humour used to say, “in the warmest of hearts there is a cold spot for the Jew”.

Or to quote Tom Lehrer from his his song “National Brotherhood Week”,
“Oh the Protestants hate the Catholics and the Catholics hate the Protestants, and the Hindus hate the Muslims and everybody hates the Jews.”

It’s a scary time to be Jewish. Eighty years ago we were being murdered by the millions and over the last few decades people have started to forget or even deny what we went through.  I can’t imagine that I’m alone among my Jewish family and friends in harbouring a small kernel of fear that the antisemitism I see around me … even among some of my gentile friends … will grow into something awful and dangerous.

But these are dark thoughts and Chanukah  is a celebration of the miraculous and of light among many other things. I’m hoping for the miracle of peace and acceptance to come to Israel and Gaza, to Nelson and to the hearts of all peoples so that we can light  up these dark times.'

Happy Holiday to All of Y'all in the Tribe <3

^^Nice Amaryllis bulbs, judit. I finally realized what those were....lol.  Kept thinking they were hyacinths.

That's funny, joe, because I sometimes confusedly call them hyacinths.

The bulbs are enclosed in wax and need absolutely no care. They're really fun.
