Happy Spring Judit.

We are getting another inch or so of rain tomorrow.

Been a long wet winter down here, we shall see what spring brings!

Happy Spring Equinox! (and happy fall equinox for those in the southern hemisphere)

Friday and Saturday were the first spring like days of the year here, but back to rain and cool weather yesterday.   Some bulbs are up but otherwise waiting for most of the trees to spring their buds open and leaf out.  Heading to Japan in the morning and keeping fingers crossed for the cherry blossoms.

SPRING!

Had our first "real" thunderstorm of the year yesterday, dime sized hail nearby (between Tangent and Shed), and this tree got zapped on Peoria Rd...

of course, Corvallis doesn't get "real" thunderstorms every year, so was fun to hear dozens of claps of thunder!

Oh, snow forecast for tomorrow and Saturday mornings...

Surfdead, I was going to look for a worthy pic of a 'spring' but didn't get to it. Thanks for being you and posting this one.

Noodler, quiet times in Eugene yesterday. Is that tree visible from Peoria Rd?

I hope you feel better soon and get out unscathed, Jilly.

I believe it is Judit, but when I drove Peoria rd yesterday, it was before the storm (had a present for Gindhart nursery, love those gals, but they're going out of biz, looking to sell the place)

Thanks, Noodler. Do you still have horseradish roots? I started thinking about getting a very small one or piece for eating. It's the season.

I've got several pounds, have a few trades worked out, will be lots left over...  plants real easily too!

the tree on fire pic is great!  and feel better soon, jlp.

So if Spring started Monday, does that mean we're sprung by now?

Spring in Marin Co. The road to Olompali, closed for the foreseeable future.

Wow, that's some buckling and heaving. It's been quite a winter down there, Local. My sister in Fairfax has had soooo much rain and (previously) unusual weather.

Are you and Mrs. LCL doing okay?

That road looks drivable....

We are doing pretty good, thank you. We Hope you are as well. We managed to avoid getting flooded despite being about 50 yards from a creek.

Always a potentially sketchy situation when a lot of rain falling on Mt. Tam is feeding into said creek.....

So a bunch of stress but we came out ok, thanks to the fact that the tide wasn't too high the day the big waves hit.

Estimated $40 million worth of damage to houses in town from that wave surge.

Here is hoping spring/summer is bit more relaxing!

Spring has sprung in Kyoto:

Woke up this morning to 3 more inches of snow. I thought we were done with all this. Was supposed to go to town around 9 but looking doubtful if it keeps snowing. With the temps just above freezing it'll be slick as snot on the big hill.

We got about another inch of snow overnight after a day of rain. The forecast is for low 40s today, so it should be gone by noon or so.

Supposed to get snow here on Wed.  But I will be in Hawaii.

Envious Ken.

Joy, your pic reminded me of this song.

Well, the wind is blowin' harder now
Fifty knots or there abouts,
There's white caps on the ocean.
And I'm watching for water spouts...
