For Love

White-out Valentine's Day here.  Seattle got it's heaviest 48 hour snowfall in over 50 years with 10-12" throughout the Sound.

It'll turn to rain by this afternoon, so hopefully, people can move around okay.

Valentine's Day, or any day, really, is better if you put your heart into it.

Happy Valentine's Day to all.

Blackout here.  Another transformer-fried squirrel.  Power Co. tech was lining up his truck just exactly perfect when I left for the market.  The light over the stove was on when I got back.

I read it'll be shitty all week.  In waves.

Hope everyone gets lucky today!

If getting lucky is seeing my grandchildren and their parents, then yes.

That's sharing love, so I'd suggest that's lucky. There's many forms of "lucky". Glad you had a good day, Judit. You deserve it.

love is lovely in all her forms

It turns out I'm seeing them tomorrow instead of today; extended lucky.

A Valentine's Day message from Amanda Gorman. https://twitter.com/TheAmandaGorman

"Self-love is revolutionary. We cannot fight for others when we're fighting a war inside ourselves. Compassion is a power that we first bestow on ourselves & then give away through our actions—to people, to our planet. When we recognize this, that is when love becomes our legacy."

35 years ago.  The final Keep On Growin' if I recall.  Last night of a 5-night weeklong run at the Kaiser.  My only time there.  I saw the whole run.  Chinese New Year's Eve, Chinese New Year, Mardi Gras, Ash Wednesday, Valentine's Day.  Every show had a theme.  BGP  decorated it differently for all 3 holidays.  The Neville Brothers sat in at the Tuesday and Wednesday shows.  This Friday show was very solid, and, over all, this run was their best in '86.

Yes Dave, the final Keep on Growin, and second-to-last Lost Sailor.

There is a video of this show out there, you can see Phil loving it during Keep On Growin.

It was a good run, sorry I missed it; Comes A Time, Half Step->Franklin's, etc...

I only got to see 9 Dead shows and 4 JGB shows there. I'm glad I got to be there for those though; it was a great place to see the band.

I loved that run. I liked a lot of '86 shows at the Kaiser, but I loved that week. So much fun.
