Healing Vibes

Forums:

Most of the Zone knows of my son Ted the football player.

His 2020 fall football season was canceled due to Covid and his school picked up 4 spring meaningless games. 3 weeks ago they were playing NW Oklahoma when big Ted laid out his man and the running back and a tackler took him out by his knee. A lineman's worst fear.

Preliminary MRI's show a torn ACL and stretched damaged PCL, MCL, LCL. All from one hit.

He is traveling to Kansas City for a full reconstructive knee surgery from one of the best knee surgeons in the country. He slices the KC Chief players.

So any vibes will help on this long and hard road for him to get back on his feet much less play football again.

OUCH

Sorry, hoping for positive results and good healing vibes for Your Son.

Football is dangerous.

((((((((Ted)))))))))

glad he's getting excellent treatment

Best of luck to 'da boy. That same determination that got him there will serve him well in getting back strong. Wishing all good things.

Dr gave him a 30% chance that it will tear again if he plays ball, He immediately responded, 70% chance it won't.

That sucks! Vibes for Ted's knee!!

Best wishes for Ted, are they still going to honor his scholarships until his degree?, that should be mandatory buy I do not think it is the case

That sucks- was he wearing those huge knee braces most O-linemen wear?

Wishing him a quick healing...

Yes they are honoring his scholarship, He graduates with his Bachelors this December and they have committed to pay for his Masters.

He wants to play fall of 2022. With the Covid he can move his eligibility.

Bummer, Tim. I hope Ted heals up fast. His comment about having a 70% chance it won't tear again shows his spirit wasn't injured at least.

That sucks.   Football takes a toll on the body and hope he is on the mend soon.

You mentioned grad school, but is he looking to get drafted?

Yes he was offered a spot to the Combine by the Detroit Lions but he turned it down to get his diploma. Until then he has 8-14 months of rehab and he can still college ball in fall 22. Tuill then the school will continue its studies and apply credits to Masters. Coaches want him for 1 more year.

To me and his Mother we don't care if he moves to the NFL.

Right now we hope he can walk without a limp.

He's has to carry his 380# for the rest of his life.

Ouch. I follow football and hope he lives his dream, but maybe other, less injury-prone paths will open.

I'm reading Ravens articles right now and all the free agents they are looking at are like 28 and "Well, he had a good rookie year, but then he got injured, then rehabbed, then played 6 games, then got injured, then traded, then played 4 games, then got injured, etc..."

It always was to an extent, but that professional sport is becoming more and more "Gladiators Working for Gamblers."

Good luck, Ted!

As a former football player and as someone who's dealt with knee pain, I can relate.   Sounds like he's on top of the medical scenarios, and has the warrior spirit to navigate them.

Out of surgery

Was not as bad as they first thought

Repairs and trimming

No cast all crutches.

best of luck to your boy. do the rehab!

Yikes, hopefully he'll have a full recovery!   Good luck and best wishes!

Yes he has his trainer availible to him 24/7

Nate has a full 7 day a week work out for him.

Teds no slacker

Ted seems to be a well-rounded person, athlete, scholar, good son, nice guy, dedicated. He knows percentages.

I like Ted. (And his dad.) What does he want out of Graduate school?

((( Ted's full recovery and living the life he wants )))

Real glad to hear the news is better than first thought.

Tim, big time vibes for Ted's knee. If he can't play perhaps he can have a future as a coach if he chooses.

[[[Ted's knee]]]]

Glad to hear that there's no cast and rehab can begin for Ted... good news!

Sounds like the future will bring positive things, yay!

Best of Luck to Flash kid,  Football Star.  I bet He comes out stronger than ever.

Those Sports Medicine Docs are pretty darn Good at their game.

I've been attending Physical Therapy 2-3 times per week over the last year, and I'm no athlete, but they are shaping me up.
They say I'll be able to play the Violin again soon.

Stu maybe you can get a job in the Orchestra on a Cruise ship when your all better.

NOICE!

Go, Ted!

Well your freak vibes did the trick. Thank You.

His ACL was not as bad as feared and was actually beginning to heal itself to the bone which apparently is a good thing.

The Meniscus was exploded, this is not a good thing, they trimmed and cleaned up the cartilage that is out of its home and packed 2.5 grams of some packing materials. (need more info on this) its new,

The ride was a fuck, Anita had to pull over 11 times to adjust the beast.

His 2 roommates are fantastic in helping in and out of bed. Needs help with everything.

Anita is cooking the boys meals and they are happy to lift him

She is already cutting back on the opioids and substituting with the gummies. He seems cool with that.

Thanks for sharing the relatively good news, given the initial fears.  Sending hope that Ted has a timely and full recovery.  And years of football to play.

Once his playing days are over, I hope that he can shed some weight so that he can better enjoy the physical activities that old guys cherish.

Losing weight has helped my arthritic knee (ski accident/PCL replacement) immensely.

(((Healthy knees for Ted)))

fuck yea Ted !!!!!!!!
