I have an imac running OS 10.6.8, snow leopard. I believe I've seen that there are software and peripherals that aren't supported by my OS, and so aren't usable. I think I wouldn't buy something with that old an OS since it might be very limited in what you can do with it.
yeah, thanks for the input y'all. i looked online after i posted this and realized how old the os was and if i wanted it i could get it for half the price that was being asked for. i can wait for a while.

Get yourself a new Mac mini $500 for unit ($700 for nicer Mac mini if u have doe)
Youll need keyboard n mouse and monitor with speakers OR a TV
But as a entry level Mac you'll be happier as it will last longer with new OS support and updates from Apple
