Hollywood Bowl Advice

I'm thinking about hitting Deadco at the Hollywood Bowl. I can tie it in with a business trip and the wife seems to be down. Ive spent time in L.A. but I've never been to a show there.
Does anyone have any tips on hotels or if there's a lot scene?
