CASSIDY RAIN - LEAD VOCALS / RHYTHM GUITAR

Cassidy’s musical journey began before she can remember - she was singing and memorizing songs when she started talking. At the age of 5, her parents got her a tape recorder that she used constantly to record songs she heard and sang. By the time she was 10 years old, she had already started writing her own songs. At 14, she picked up the acoustic guitar and it became her fondest companion; she took it everywhere with her - to school, to the beach, everywhere. Her guitars have their share of knicks and bruises from their adventures.

BRYAN SCHROEDER - LEAD GUITAR / BACKUP VOCALS

Bryan’s journey in music began early as well, attending his Dad’s band’s shows from a very young age. There are photos of him and his cousin on stage with his Dad’s band, toy guitars in hand. However, Bryan’s first musical venture was in drumming, and he played drums for years before learning to play guitar. He began to really hone in on the guitar when he moved to California and was able to spend hours playing every day.

MAX ADLER - DRUMS / BACKUP VOCALS

Max rounds out The Outcrops rhythm section with a fluid groove that carries the band along like the ebbs and flows of a river.  Like the great blues, soul and rock bands of the 60's and 70's, his style has a foundation in Jazz.  Max was a student of the Jazz program at Montclair State University in New Jersey and he uses his knowledge and skills to add flavors and dynamics, imprinting his style on the band's sound.

QAASIM MUNOZ - BASS GUITAR

Qaasim, otherwise known as "Q", adds a uniquely funky & jazzy style of playing to The Outcrops. Besides playing music, Q is also a professional fine artist.

biography

The Electric Farm is taking soft pop into a folky space rock situation on their new album UNGLUED. The dreamy—and at times haunting, dark and hopeful—collection represents the band's first leanings toward a cohesive theme laced with an autobiographical thread. The opening track "Days of My Youth" invites the listener to enter what "feels like another world, in another time."  Each song delivers a musical short story which together creates a journey as expansive as the mysteries of the universe and as intimate as one's search for self.

Singer-songwriter Joey Mutis III, known for “an exceptional songwriting talent (and) gift for evoking feelings and moods”,  has garnered more than a few comparisons to Nick Drake. While the music has a quiet style definitely reminiscent of British folk rock, Elliot Smith, Fleet Foxes and others—there is clearly a broad spectrum of influences from the storytelling of Ray Davies (The Kinks) and the raw emotion of Neil Young to psychedelic, Brazilian and jazz colorings.

Their self-titled third album was the most played CD by a local artist on WDIY, the Lehigh Valley’s community NPR station. Songs off that CD include “Unspoken Love,” showcased on the CBS drama NUMB3RS (Season 2: Guns and Roses episode) and “Man of the Town,” a favorite of Philly folk icon Gene Shay.

“Man of the Town” previously appeared on the PHILADELPHIA PHAST PHOLKS CD compilation from Fast Folk Magazine, a New York-based talent antenna that was the first to record such music notables as Suzanne Vega and John Gorka. The band was later selected to perform in the Tri-Centric Showcase and another hosted by Shay at the 2007 NERFA (Northeast Regional Folk Alliance) conference.

Several other songs are featured in television and film, including “Thinkin ‘Bout My Friend” (season premiere of Fox’s DRIVE); "Fallen Star" (HAPPY ENDINGS); DVD releases of CRIMINAL MINDS and THE FALL GUY; and “Shabby Girl” (ONE TREE HILL Season One/20th Century Fox movie DRIVE ME CRAZY).

Earlier albums BOOMSCHLANG VIPER STORY ranked #1 on the CMJ charts (WNTI in Hackettstown, NJ) and SIX was among “Top Philly Band Picks” by WXPN Program Director, Bruce Warren.

Rock ‘N Roll Hall of Famer Peter Buck of REM played mandolin on early demos recorded by the band at John Keane’s studio in Athens, Georgia.

For more than 20 years, The Electric Farm has delivered the experience live at East Coast venues including Johnny D's, Googies Lounge at The Living Room, World Cafe, Musikfest, Godfrey Daniels, Sellersville Theatre, Morristown Theater, The Historic Blairstown Theater, Steel City Coffeehouse, MilkBoy, Chaplin's, Railroad Earth's Stillwater Getaway, 40 Watt Club and storied NYC clubs Kenny's Castaways and CBGB.

Last, but not least, The Electric Farm have a long and storied history with HomegrownRadioNJ.org  , performing many Benefits and Live Broadcasts over HGRNJ’s 20 year history, so we are excited to invite them back!

Geoff Doubleday is an up and coming artist from Sparta, New Jersey. When it comes to writing music, Geoff lets his own thoughts and experiences take the wheel which makes for a very original experience.

Geoff’s history with HGRNJ.org goes back to a Pre-Railroad Earth Party at Sarah Street Grill in Stroudsburg, PA a few years ago. Bob O was present when Geoff won a contest to perform the best cover version of a Railroad Earth song! He followed that with a blazing acoustic version of Scarlet Begonias > Fire On The Mountain that Bob O never forgot! Soon after, Geoff appeared as a guest on Bob O’s HGRNJ Radio Show, where Bob was enthralled with Geoff’s treatments of Grateful Dead, Bruce Springsteen songs and originals. Bob also learned that Geoff was already doing professional gigs and recording since he was 17 years old, working with Patrick Fitzsimmons of ‘From Good Homes’ on Fitz's Solo projects, and later playing prolifically as a Solo Artist, with his electric band, ‘Doubleday', and also as lead guitarist for Fitz, and also sharing the stage with Bobby Syvarth, Tim Carbone, Dan Myers, Steve Kimock and many other luminaries. HGRNJ is delighted to host rising talent Geoff Doubleday as our 20th Anniversary Celebration Opening Performer!
