How do you protest / combat a con man when the con hasn't been fully exposed?

Forums:

Seems this is a major difficulty vs. protesting a war such as Iraq.   A war is a discrete event that you can point to, but a con doesn't necessarily manifest itself as such & remains elusive by nature ... since the motivations and lies are typically only known by the con man.

I'm sure there have been many "Impeach Trump" signs carried in protest to date, but until there's proof and Congress actually steps up to the plate, what is to stop the con man from being actively engaged in the con and simply lying again and again?

Having said that, I'm starting to believe that it will take more than words, but hopefully something short of civil war ... since the con man can keep pumping out untruths for as long as it takes.

Inundate the reps in DC. Everyone!!!!!!

Be a start.

VOTE it seems voter suppression is the tactic they used to win the election.

You can start by not giving the guy so much attention.   He thrives on it and the whole daily shit show of outrageous and stupid tweets and comments is a massive smoke and mirrors operation distracting the American people from all the real stuff that is being done by the GOP run Congress and agencies (i.e. court packing, regulatory roll backs, etc.).

I can get behind that theory. When bad stuff is happening in my life (especially health-related) I’m really good at ignoring it so maybe I’ll apply that here too.

I bet during this 2018 Mid Term Election it's such a Democratic blow out...

They will find that Russians interfered this time for the Democrats.

Just so Republicans can claim that "see they did it to us also" trying to skew some kind normalcy and they had

no hand in getting Trump elected with the help of Russians and Putin is to blame.

Everyday both Dems and Republicans say Russia is attacking us every single day "The Red Light is blinking".

In the primate world they just throw some poo

Respect to everyone here...appreciate the intelligent discourse, if there is a summary of the opposing view, this may be it, it's just over seven minutes, as a point of reference it's worth considering, enjoy the day!

Kicking down the door?

The interesting discussion point being put forth by Carlson is the neoconservative agenda stopping at nothing to overthrow this presidency...there are a lot of moving parts, and it's not just red/blue, republican/democrat.
The illusion that the neoconservative movement is strictly republican is the point he was making, if there was ever proof of that it was the continuation of the Bush foreign policy by Obama, which everyone thought would be continued by Hillary...when that didn't happen the next move on the chessboard for the military industrial complex/intelligence community was to begin the process of unseating Trump, that is the operational theory, there are many good people that chose to subscribe to it and many good people who do not.
The irony is a lot of very good people who truly believe themselves to be anti-war honestly don't get the paradox...they have been conditioned to think red = war, blue = peace, which was the desired illusion.

The door should have never been in place. Thanks

Not quite sure if you're suggesting to completely ignore him?

I also believe he's engaged in a massive smoke and mirrors campaign; and don't give credence to any of his political or ideological based comments / tweets.  If I had to bet on it, I'd say he doesn't believe in anything except what's in his own self interest.   I wouldn't put it past him to start a war to deflect attention away from himself.

So, in a certain sense, I'd agree that we ought not get bogged down in debating the merits of the shit that comes out of his mouth ... but we should most definitely keep our eye on the ball in so far as shining the light of day on any "illegal procedure" he may have been involved in.

You know Fox News used to spout...

BDS (Bush Derangement Syndrome)

Now they spout...

TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome)

Tired, predictable and lazy.

But their base eats that shit up.

>>>>>Not quite sure if you're suggesting to completely ignore him?

Completely ignore anything he says.  Its all a bunch of BS and getting worked up over it is playing right into his hands.  He is the world's biggest tar baby.  As someone said, "I learned a long time ago never wrestle with a pig. You only get dirty and the pig likes it."

But keep a sharp focus and what the GOP in congress and the agencies actually do, especially when everyone's attention seems to be diverted to the asinine Trump antics de jour.   That is what really matters.

>>>>> I'd say he doesn't believe in anything except what's in his own self interest.

Yes.

But keep a sharp focus and what the GOP in congress and the agencies actually do, especially when everyone's attention seems to be diverted to the asinine Trump antics de jour.   That is what really matters<<<

Yeah, there's been very little (if any) movement by the GOP in congress ... Sen. Collins tweeted today "The Russians continue efforts to undermine Western democracies, including ours. The President is wrong and needs to heed the warnings from our Intelligence Community, including DNI Dan Coats." ... which is all well and good, but it doesn't really do anything "actionable" to address the issue at hand.   Maybe it's a start, but it's all lip service.

However, not sure everything that Trump says can be completely ignored in the strictest sense.   If he's truly been compromised, at least some of the bs that comes out of his mouth might provide some advance warning about his trajectory ... such as Helsinki may have.

I agree w/P-town Ken:  watch what he is doing, and protest that.  Protecting the oceans, for example;  comment period ends August 27th.

Get the public's voice in by writing and getting others to express opinions.  Ignore Trump's words, but fight his anti-environmental actions.
