Get vaxed.

Thx.

Thanks, astro. I'm reading it, and as you said, long but good.

Interesting article, thanks.

endemic

A couple tougher strains and the same attitudes that many are taking these days and projections show it will end with a 1/3 of the world's population dead.

t's nature's way of telling you something's wrong
It's nature's way of telling you in a song

It's nature's way of receiving you
It's nature's way of retrieving you
It's nature's way of telling you
Something's wrong

It's nature's way of telling you, soon we'll freeze
It's nature's way of telling you, dying trees

It's nature's way of receiving you
It's nature's way of retrieving you
It's nature's way of telling you
Something's wrong

Well, that should loosen up the housing market.

Good article, thanks for sharing.

I'm very concerned for folks with compromised immune systems and kids not yet vaccinated.

Those of us vaccinated (and able to develop antibodies)  will survive, but it really sucks that there are so many innocent vulnerable people.

Unfortunately Darwin doesn't distinguish between the anti vaxxer and the innocent folk.

>The U.S. now faces a dispiriting dilemma. Last year, many people were content to buy time for vaccines to be developed and deployed. But vaccines are now here, uptake has plateaued, and the first surge of the vaccine era is ongoing. What, now, is the point of masking, distancing, and other precautions?

The answer, as before, is to buy time—for protecting hospitals, keeping schools open, reaching unvaccinated people, and more. Most people will meet the virus eventually; we want to ensure that as many people as possible do so with two doses of vaccine in them, and that everyone else does so over as much time as possible. The pandemic isn’t over, but it will be: The goal is still to reach the endgame with as little damage, death, and disability as possible. COVID-19 sent the world into freefall, and although vaccines have slowed our descent, we’d still be wise to steer around the trees standing between us and solid ground. “Everyone’s got pandemic fatigue—I get it,” Rivera told me. “But victory is not you as an individual getting a vaccine. It’s making sure that SARS-CoV-2 doesn’t bring us to our knees again.”

thanks for the article. I'd be interested to know how many people who have yet to be vaccinated have vaccinated pets. That would be an interesting stat.

Enjoy the view from the top(?) of the food chain while you can.

This article is very informative.   Thank you for sharing.

What's frustrating to me is that we seem more interested in telling each other what idiots each "side" is, instead of finding common ground.   We all want this thing to go away as fast as possible.  We all want businesses open.  We all want kids in school (except maybe the homeschoolers).   What kills me is the fastest way to achieve this is through vaccines AND masks.  If you want to get back to life as we know it, here is the answer, it's right in front of you.  If you don't want to take it, yes it's your choice, but expect many to die and us not to get back to normal any time soon.

Don't hate me for saying, but maybe 1/3 less population might be a good thing overall.  Especially since a large majority in this country would be republicans.

Good read. Thank you for posting

add testing and contact tracing

already hearing from 2 friends - fully vaccinated - who are out sick with Covid. Flu like symptoms and tested positive. The breakthrough cases are happening at record pace.
