Forums:

Details On January 14, 1967, North Beach’s beat poets, Haight Ashbury’s peace and love children and Berkeley’s political activists came together in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park for the first Human Be-in, the event that launched the Summer of Love. Now, members of San Francisco’s legendary bands combine with virtual reality visionaries to honor the enduring values of the First Human Be-In: peace, love, community and activism. A once-in-a-lifetime Jam for Peace will feature stars from some of the city’s most iconic bands -- Country Joe and the Fish, Big Brother and the Holding Company, the Blues Project, Sons of Champlin. Electric Flag, Stoneground, and the Youngbloods. Popular San Francisco band House of Hamsa will also perform. Two special areas demonstrate how virtual reality can promote social good. VR experiences planned include the United Nations production Clouds Over Sidra - a visit to a Syrian refugee camp, and Stanford Ocean Acidification Experience, which takes viewers to the bottom of the sea There will be video messages of peace from Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr. Kenny Loggins, Joe Walsh, Michelle Phillips, Peter Coyote. Dr. Jane Goodall. Tavis Smiley. Edward James Olmos, Linda Gray, Ed Asner, cast members of the Walking Dead, Olympian Marilyn King, and five time world champion boxer Timothy Bradley. People from around the world will participate via the live streaming in a special Rededication Ceremony to the Values of the 1960s - Peace, Love, Community and Activism. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/the-celebration-of-the-50th-anniversary-of-...
