I miss Jerry

Forums:

While randomly scrolling through my facebook page just now I came upon this video and clicked on it.

I've seen it before, I watch videos of Jerry & listen to his music all the time, but for some reason I choked up watching this, and was reminded once again that after 26 years how much I still miss that guy.

Those of you seeing Phil tonight or in the next days/weeks, embrace the moments with that great musician, because time waits for no one.

LONG LIVE PHIL LESH!!!!!!!!!!

LONG LIVE JERRY GARCIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LONG LIVE THE GRATEFUL DEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great appearance by the old man.

Thanks for posting that. Cool to see Garcia & Grisman on Letterman,

I didn't get choked up on this one, but I completely get where you're coming from. I'm so grateful to have Phil playing (right now--listening to stream!).

Yeah, that's what prompted me to make this post. It's just a random clip like dozens of others I see all the time, but for some reason it just hit me when Letterman introduced him, I saw that crafty smile and heard him start singing.

I guess I'm just becoming a sentimental fool in my aging years.

And there's nothing wrong with that.

Yes Lance thanks for posting. I saw that on TV that night, because it was the first Garcia/Grisman "public" performance I wasn't at personally,

and at the time, that was irritating. Luckily we were able to see it on Tee-Vee!

Miss the big guy all the time.

And the next day was my birthday and the start of the 6 night GD run at MSG.

I was stuck in dreary old California....

Hahahaha ain't life grand.

(((((((((heart))))))))

me too

You are not Alone.

So they did bring the Garcia-Grisman band to NYC. Too bad they never toured out east.

Embrace

 every moment

many misty moments for this old man this week

so very blessed

More than just one man, I miss the circus - especially them summer tours,, GDead + Allman Bros were like going to an unknown yet familiar twisted family reunion.

Nice to hear of all the recent reuniting of old pals at the Cap, that also warms the heart.

But I really miss the strangers stopping strangers just to shake their hands kind of thing.

Great Stuff 'up in here'! No can do on subbing for Jerry and I always liked Grisman and the little bands he had/has out there too. Garcia/Grisman all the better!

Ahoy Raz - Be the Stranger!! You and We All can make the world a little bit better place by being that spark and spreading senseless acts of kindness.

I miss Jerry every day and still listen to him quite regularly and with never ending amazement.

We are the lucky fellows, those of us who got to see Jerry perform in many settings over a whole lot of years.
