If opposed to ACA mandate, what about being "forced" to buy/wear clothes?

That's sort of an 'Apples vs. Oranges vs. Tamarinds vs. Honeydews' proposition.

Everyone likes Boobies, and only fascists want to make laws prohibiting Boob-sunbathing. Who cares if the lady next to me on the train wants to go topless after a long day at work?

But ACA is a mandatory tax to further fatten insurance conglomerates, enforced by gov't.

So fighting for the right to let the titties swing under the sun is quite different from having to pay an IRS fine for ACA.

COLORADO FASCISTS!

This specific case was brought about because of a law that the Municipality of Fort Collins in the state of Colorado passed back in 2015. It was a law stating that unless a woman was breastfeeding or under the age of nine she was not allowed to be topless in public.

But ACA is a mandatory tax to further fatten insurance conglomerates, enforced by gov't.

So fighting for the right to let the titties swing under the sun is quite different from having to pay an IRS fine for ACA.<<<<

Does it really matter what the rationale might be if in both situations the government essentially compels people to spend money - or be faced with a fine or some other penalty?

Are not both an infringement of personal liberty in so far as if said people were left to their own devices would otherwise cause no direct harm to others?

ACA explicitly requires you to buy coverage and defines the exact coverage requirements.

This law isn't compelling you to spend money. You just have to cover yourself. You could use napkins or leaves or a trash bag.

>Everyone likes Boobies

Amen

Sort of?????

Clothes are a sign of a civilized society.  And it's a sign of the times that this needs to be said.

OP should be forced to have a lobotomy

What about Stop signs?

Does a green light really mean I must Go, or a mere suggestion ?

Must I peel an orange and/or banana, or does society expect me to peel fruit?

And baseball, I mean, what's the deal?

FacePalmOnMars

This is why we call Fort Collins 'Little Auschwitz'.

I think that Thom2 is part of the repressed anti-nudist mentality.

He could maybe get right by getting naked in public, and not being ashamed that the Gods gave him a body.

I am all for clothing, in the right time and place. No way I'm running chainsaws naked, ever.

But Women should not get citations from cops for walking around topless, if that's their fashion of the day.

Sure, I think it's OK if Ladies & Gentlemen go shirtless in the Workplace, as long as it's up to OSHA code.

And socialized health care is not a sign of a "civilized society"?

Fair enough and agree with you on legal distinction; however, is not the end result effectively the same?

How many people in modern society would have the ability to "scrounge up clothing" without spending $$$?

Plenty. Go to the drop-off dumpsters and rummage, go to any church, there's so much free clothing out there it's silly.

Topless women get what they want!

Yet, for those who are ideologically opposed to the government mandating one ante's up re: healthcare, is there really much difference in so far as the government requiring you to expend energy so as you're not seen "naked" by others in public?

The number one crazy law in VT...it thought it belonged in this thread.

1. It's illegal to undress in public in Vermont, but if you leave your house naked, it's totally fine.

And ned, you could've just said "freebox" :-)

The Reality of it all --

Everyone grew up suckling upon the Teat. Mother Nature provides.

So why discriminate against the Breasts ??

Very true indeed.

And we point fingers at the Taliban?

Everybody's got something to hide, except for me and my monkey.
