I'm in Marin. Recommend me some good Cali wine, please.

Forums:

You guys don't send a lot of the good stuff out towards Jersey.

The best thing to do is to go wine tasting, and have some fun figuring out which you like the most.

You need to explain your budget constraints and your preferences.

The wine world is huge-mongous...

Cab? Merlot? Pinot Noir? Syrah? Petite Syrah?, Mouvedre?, Tempranillo? Cabernet Franc? Meritage?
Chardonnay? Pinot Gris? Pinot Grigio? Malbec, Sauvignon Blanc?

Leave Marin smiley   and what Dise said.

Went wine tasting yesterday in Kenwood/Glen Ellen area. Stops:  Imagery, Arrowood, Mayo and Muscardini (best of the bunch, imo).

As Treble mentioned, taste by regions that produce your favorite varietals...   It's a good day for tooling around.  If you head to Healdsburg, let me know.

It's a beautiful day to hit the Wine Country.

Enjoy!

We like wine from Navarro Vineyards in Anderson Valley....and it's on one of our favorite scenic drives.

You should head up to Healdsburg, if you do, I can recommend Chateau Diana, who hosted a zoner group years back, as well as several other stops from that same jaunt. Get thee in touch with Ms. Jam Juice, she's a great zone wine ambassador and hostess!

Marin doesn't have much to choose from and will be over-priced.

I agree. hit sonoma co.

I love the Cabs and Zinfs, gf loves the pinot noirs and whites. Going a tasting may be on the schedule for the week but today I think we are headed to Point Reyes. Thanks for the tips, guys.

Also, I think between 25-40/ bottle is what I'm looking for. Thanks!

meet up with ned, so you can snub together!!!

Have fun at Point Reyes!

If it's too windy/cold on the coast, check out Heart's Desire Beach, on the other side of the hills, on Tomales Bay.

Yesterday, I was trying to talk my in-laws into going to Point Reyes Station, a nice little country town where you can buy wine, oysters, and other picnic fare....

I don't know anything about wine, but a friend is a big hoohaa at Silver Oak Winery in Napa Valley and all my friends who do love wine love Silver Oak cabs (I think that's all they make).

My friend at the winery is also a huge dead head, so I say support Silver Oak cabs!

Silver Oak Napa.... Very Kind

Paging Wino...

Ended up dropping into the Point Reyes vineyard on a whim after eating some amazing oysters in Marshall. Guy was blasting a 69' show. Gave me a 30% discount on his 99' and '01 cabs. Steve. Good man, that Steve.

Half the fun is the adventure of checking new wineries out :) Sounds like you found a keeper!

^ It is, Dise! Forgot to mention the wine is excellent . :)

c-note: four pack received, little birdie sent-out.

real terrific work, strong work, be proud, and, you two have a damn fine time out west!

Thanks, Lava! You gave me too much, my friend. I owe you a couple pies at D los in the future.

beautiful, wino.

yo c, this thread needs some photos from the trip. :)

Logic, my sister and I hope to go to Quixote Winery for the Hundertwasser everything. My sister has seen a lot of original work and buildings in Europe. It sounds like something I'll really like.

I have some great photos of Big Sur. Still in the Sur for the next couple of days and I will have some great photos. Still haven't quite figured out how to post photos from the iPhone.

Not sure if we will make it up north into wine country. We will be staying in Larkspur tomorrow night. Not sure how close that is to Sonoma.

Hey Timpane!

I was up in Tahoe but came back for the 2 Kimock shows in mill valley...

what show are you seeing tonight?

Happy New Year!!

Hey, Roshambo!

Happy new year!

Didn't get a chance to see any shows! Wanted to do kimock but couldn't find tix. My gf really loves "The Devil Makes Three" and they were playing in Santa Cruz but couldn't get tix for that either. Spend NYE in Big Sur, it was quite magical. We've really been having a great time. In Marin tomorrow and then fly out Tuesday afternoon. Hope you had a good time at Kimock!!

Tomorrow is our last day. Gundlach Bundshu sounds doable. May try to to squeeze a trip in, thanks!
