IMHO

Forums:

The Butthole Surfers are not musically talented but listening to them on acid left an imprint on my psyche.

Clearly.

do you like ihop?

I knew a dude who lived with the band in the early 80s. He said that they did a lot of acid and listened to the Dead.

A great band live but the constant video imagery that covers the entire stage gets old pretty fast and is very distracting.

I think the Grateful Dead are more musically talented but their ballads did not burn anything into my psyche.

I love when I see people type “IMHO” because I know the most non-humble ego driven statement is coming next

>>their ballads did not burn anything into my psyche.

You never heard Jerry sing Visions of Johanna. #sad

I never saw him sing anything but he taught you how to hate me. I don't know why.

Distortion guitar sounds heavy.

Damn, those Jerry ballads almost always bring tears to my eyes. I’ll be driving down the road wiping the tears away. Jerry’s growing, at the end of Believe it or Not, especially does something to me.

Those damn ego killers.

Cool

I don't know what that means.

#sad

What time is it for you, Gravytrain?

UTC.

Same for you as it is for me.

What am I missing?

who else have you listened to on acid?

How Will The Wolf Survive is as good as Graceland.

Lots of GD. All the usual late 80's/early 90's high school stuff. Classic rock.

Space tapes. Jazz, reggae, hip hop.

Try alan parsons first album....tales of mystery and imagination....parsons interpretations of some Edgar Allen Poe...liquid in the eye....headphones...bail $ in pocket....go for it

Go for what?

For the longest time I thought IMHO = In My Honest Opinion.  I never felt terribly humble about what I was sharing, but at least try to stay true to myself.  wink

My paranoid colleague (and friend) used to throw a few BHS songs on the mix tapes he gave me.  Mainly stuff from Hairway to Steven and Widowermaker! (I remember Bong Song with fondness).  He was also the one who turned me on to Julian Cope's Jehovakill - Love that album!

My son likes the song "Pepper" which, to him, is a bit of an oldies tune (not sure that he's ready for the real deal - and I'm not even sure that I want him to know that I like the older stuff).

^^Take acid, put on headphones, and get ready to be jailed, I suppose.

Love that Alan Parsons lp as well.

Okay, must be Saturday night:

I was trying to remember if Butthole Surfers were in Urg! A Music War, then I realized that I was thinking of the Surf Punks, so here's a video from the Surf Punks

Slack, you may need to listen to St. Of Circumstance before you start this lil adventure....not sure you are ready for...it

One must remain constantly vigilant. The best way to do so is to always don a rope belt and a dirty bandana.

>>> before you start this lil adventure

What adventure?

Slack, I get the impression that you’re a really smart dude who is really bored. Have you thought about taking a college class or two? You might really enjoy using your brain in a different way.

No worries, Slack. You said it all in your text from 10:10 last pm. Answer that question, and you may be on your way.

And take your lil buddy with ya, he s obviously screaming out for help, wearing rope belts and shit. He s a fckn mess. Help him, if you can. Have a great Sunday....all.

Go tell your son to take drugs and go on an adventure.

We round down to 4.77777. He’s a Tulsa schlong minus 1 on the melt-o-meter.

Do colleges teach altruism?

No, but a good philosophy class may get into whether or not there is true altruism.

There isn't. It's bad for real estate value.

Whatever. I was just throwing an idea out there. It doesn’t have to be a college class. Check out Universal Class. They have some courses that are very thought provoking. I’ve been taking the US Government class, which has been pretty interesting.

Why did you and Jam give me a melt-o-meter rating?

I was just riffing off his jam.

He's like T-Ham. He doesn't know how to jam so he goes right to the tease.

Who cares?

who is we? the hip dudes on that garbage board that also post here but don't like any drama?

Chill out, Cheeks. It’s all in fun. Go be holier than thou elsewhere, drama queen.

Jambone and Brian K.

calm down, take a breath on a Sunday and take your own advice, dbmb baller.

Reading is fundamental, JR...i had it at a 4.8

Not In My Hobbit Onderpants?

IMAGINE thinking you are edgy recommending ALAN PARSONS to someone IN 2018.

IMAGINE

*IMAGINE*

Edgy?

Edgy?

Lol

well, i meant more who have you see LIVE, on acid?

I saw this band the most in the 90's. Lots of other regional punk/ska/reggae bands, GD cover bands and Sublime.

WASH - https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Ju7CgjmFjs0

Since then it's been mostly Les Claypool bands and Jerryless GD member bands.

This sounds like ThePhilZone.net.

Real deadheads being deader than thou.

You know my feelings. I think that you’re a bigger piece of trash than any of them (okay, most). I base my opinion on how you act here, all the time, which is as a not so nice person.

That’s cool that you think you’re better, though. I just don’t see it.

Doubtful that Ateix approves.

It was a different time. I wouldn't want to see all the same bands today.

IMHO Joshua Redman is great.
