With the caveat that music documentaries are kind of like heist movies for me - there are only different levels of good. I really enjoyed the Alanis Morrissette documentary on HBO Max. I wasn't a huge fan back in the day, but she was hard to miss in the mid 90's. Just a lot of great concert footage. Wish I had caught that initial Jagged tour with her first back up band. That said Alanis has come out strongly against the doc and said it was salacious, even though they interview present day a lot. Didn't feel that way to me, but my bar for salacious is probably different than most.
I'm really enjoying these Bill Simmons produced music docs. Woodstock 99 was another one he did. I've always enjoyed his voice going back to his AOL days as the Boston Sports Guy.

Ever see Miles Ahead? That is literally a heist movie with Miles Davis as the protagonist.
