Jailbroken Firestick vs. ????

Forums:

Anyone have the Kodi app on their Firestick? I'm thinking about saving some $ on cable.

Thoughts, experiences? Thanks.

I don't either (my tv went out 8 months ago & haven't replace it) but my neighbors have kodi on playstation vue, watching theater run movies with Chinese subtitles is a trip

I do...great south park station...every episode...basically, you can load whatever you want onto it...picture it as a bookshelf, and you gotta put your favorite books on it...

If ya like sports...some streams are great..(and of course, youre at mercy of a good internet signal)... i can watch any hockey, basketball etc...seems i couldnt find good nfl streams, nor baseball...they are there, but thry constsntly buffer...

I have found if i look for european tv...british espn etc..i can pick it up ez...united states signal?...no can do...go figure...and i watch a ton of movies on "exodus"...you ll want to load that asap

And, besides kodi...the firestick alone...added w netflix etc...i did that and an $18 digital antenna for local stations, and...no cable bill...ten zillion stations

Good luck...and

Fuck Cable!

I know a few people who have it and really just don't care for it, hence why we still have cable.

And yes, fuck cable!

I have about 8-10 friends thar have it...the ones who kept cable...(prob 3-4, incl my brother) are ppl who mostly kept it for yes, or nesn, for yankees, red sox etc... i just cant see paying for cable, for basically 2-3 stations....everything else in world is available for free....other thing is...some ppl got firestick and kodi, but didnt have a clue that you have to load apps on kodi...when you tell them that, and response is.."whats an app?"...those are ppl i recommend stay w their cable

There def is work involved finding all streams, stations, etc...but, i had no problem...most likely via education of hunting streams i got thru here!!!

Thanks for the info. I'm getting flack on the homefront because it's not quite legal, and that we'll lose local stations.

Maybe the compromise is Sling TV. I just got a promo in the mail, and I can get everything I want for $40 p/m. To do that with Comcast is  about $140.

Really going to look hard at googles YouTube tv. $35 a month with 6 users attahed and ability to watch from anywhere

Brian, it is still perfectly legal...in the united states...there is s court case cited on one of the web sites i saw before loading it..the actual verdict stated it would be revisited in 2017-2018....cant you get your local stations w a digital antenna? (Depends where you live..they are priced by how many miles they cover...i got one for $18...and pick up my local cbs (along w four cbs ' 3.1 3.2  3.3 3. 4..etc nbc, pbs , fox, along w antenna tv, cozi, this, about 20 stations total)

Again, id highly recommend...digital antenna ($18) amazon firestick ($35) netflix subscription (free, lol, i piggy back on a friends acct), and kodi (free)...i actually end watching about 40% regular tv, 40% firestick, and 20 %  kodi...and its a click of remote to switch from one to another

Sat up last night and watched half of season 2 of "Better Call Saul"

You Can Put Kodi on your Mac or PC very easily as well.

my advice is get kodi and keep local channels only from cable

It's easy for the technology challenged. And I don't think it's much money. Give it a try. A friend has it and seems to like it. The quality is a little iffy, I think
