Anyone on Viva go to this one?
There's a question of whether the show was in Laxson Auditorium or Acker Gymnasium. These two say Laxson: http://gdsets.com/gdsets_jerry80s.htm#1982 and http://jerrygarcia.com/show/1982-03-17-laxson-auditorium-chico-state-uni...

I'm curious as to why Torbert
I'm curious as to why Torbert would be substituting for Khan for one set of each show on the 7th (second) and 17th (first). John had to skip out after the first set on the 7th and didn't return until the second set on the 17th??????

I hung out with Patti Torbet
I hung out with Patti Torbet (David's widow) at the Dead show at Jones Beach in 2004.
In intermission she had a trucker friend who built a Mobile party home on the top of a flat bead 18 wheel trailer. We smoked out big time & then went back in for the second set.
Anyways Patti said John Kahn got real sick & David Torbet & was the best closest bass player available. David didn't show up for dinner that night & showed up at midnight like "You'll never guess what happened, I got to play with Jerry Garcia tonight"
You can reconfirm this with Patti Torbet, she's still in touch with David Nelson (she sang a bit too) and the NRPS community, both on-line & in person.
Is this the David Torbet show? Don't have my Jerry base near by.

Sometime around '92 I was toodlin' around SF in my Honda Civic CVCC - mine was bright red and affectionately referred to as, "The Tomato."
At the moment I refer to, my very unhip, uncool, nerdy sister from NYC was riding shotgun. We were at a red light on Post at Van Ness in SF when an SF black & white patrol car pulled up alongside me and rolled down his window. (Unbeknownst to my sister, on the back of my car was a purple bumper sticker that said, "Lesh is More.") Cop looks at me and says, "Lesh may be more, but Kahn is King!" Cop drives toward downtown. Clueless sister had no idea what it all meant. I just smiled and drove on!
