Best JGB show I ever saw.

Hi Ya Thom ~

12 of my friends & I drove from Long Island at different times of the day.

I was one the of last to leave town; i had to work that morning & left with one-other friend who has terrible allergies & was usually cranky.

This day no different then any other as we drove his father's tiny VW Rabbit upstate at 2pm.

It wasn't that the State Troopers were holding up traffic; it was just the volume of cars that were already there; I suppose. But we ended parking a mile away in-a-nice-hood.

We hear Jerry smoking it up in the distance.

Get out of the car & Oak says " Fuck! - Let it Rock!"

I had enough Jerry shows under my-belt-to-know-we-blew-it, big-time.

Best Let it Rock of all time & we (about 60 heads) are marching towards the Gully-in-hippy-like-orderly-fashion.

No-one was there; but everyone must have brought two cars. Lot was packed....

Oh the rain and mud!

My First Jerry Garcia Band Show !!

JGB opened for Bobby And The Midnights that day...true story.

EPIC Don't Let Go ...yes

Best Let it Rock of all time)))))))))))))))

I would debate that the Let It Rock at Nassau 1989 was better IMHO

Music Mountain was a GRATE show I also drove up from Long Island as I was still going home from college in the summer.

"JGB opened for Bobby And The Midnights that day...true story."

And I was glad that they did. The rain mostly held off until it started to pour during Billy Cobham's drum solo, at which point we were more than happy to hit the road.

I would also add that it was the best Midnight's show I ever saw as well.

"Don't Let Go" was one for the ages, having Kreutzman on drums made all the difference.
