While this later edition is certainly missing Jay, back in their hayday (late 70s / early 80s) the Mighty J. Geils Band was one of the most high energy, fun live bands that ever was!! Outside the GD and related worlds, never been part of a crowd that gigged and danced more than the JGB crowd!  Such an awesome band.

Yes they were

Saw them in 1980 with my brother, I only knew one song. Blew my 13 year old ass out of the water.

It was a great time

I only saw them once, opening for the Rolling Stones.

It was the first time I saw the Stones, in 1981. I was young and didn't know much about the RS.

That day, I thought J. Geils Band was better.

Recently heard Peter Wolf doin a shout out on the Underground Garage,, and yes Woober Groober still got green teeth.

One fun as hell band. Saw em warm up Jethro Tull once at Colt Park in Hartford. Tullivision

June 4, 1977 Soldier Field Chicago my only J. Geils show.
