A rare 2nd complete live recording of Coltrane's masterpiece surfaces.  In a world with so much trouble, this is the proverbial manna from the heavens.

Thanks for the heads up!

On a loosely related note, I just picked up the new Pharaoh Sanders album with Floating Points and London Symphony Orchestra (actually it's a Floating Points album with Sanders and LSO, but whatever).  Truly a masterwork and to see Sanders still out there doing his thing is too cool.  I'd recommend.

I have the vinyl pressing of "Live in Seattle" Impulse AS 9202. These are new recordings from that run?

Awesome...

This interests me for sure. Dave; what format/issue do you consider to be the sonically 'definitive' love supreme? Just curious.

I have two fairly crappy cd's and a mono LP with the red border (fourth impulse label?)

It almost gets me excited to hear a new, different version

Great thread, thanks Herbal!
This link within the article posted above also has some good listens from Seattle scene: https://www.seattletimes.com/entertainment/music/you-cant-go-to-live-con...

Missing Seattle today.

Thanks for the recs, Floating Points is amazing.

I'm far from the authority, but my preference is almost always for original pressings.   I'd be happy with the U.S. Stereo or Mono 1st editions, and be equally pleased to own the Japanese, German or U.K. originals.

This is a whole thread on the Steve Hoffman forums dedicated to this very subject:
