John Kerry

Forums:

On tour right now. Buy the book.

All we can do is pray that John Kerry does not decide to get involved in the 2020 presidential election. The job to be done will be tough enough without Kerry offering himself up to Trump for target practice.

Isn't that the guy who married into the Heinz Ketchup Dynasty ??

I remember hearing about that fellow in some politics & such.

He was a war hero or something.

Keep one hand on your wallet.

Couldn’t agree more Sammy.

The Democratic party, they recycle....

Kerry doesn't have a prayer, but he does have an ego and that could be a problem for the Democrats.

But the idea that they will nominate an old white guy is laughable.  Joe Biden take note.

"...Wealth[edit]

Heinz and Kerry signed a prenuptial agreement and have kept their premarital assets separate[citation needed]. Heinz has declined to disclose her personal tax returns, citing family trusts and privacy.[citation needed] She is estimated to be worth between $750 million and $1.2 billion.[41] According to her most recently released income tax of 2003, Kerry and Heinz paid an effective federal income tax rate of 12%[citation needed].

Heinz and Kerry live an affluent life. They own a six-floor, $7 million townhome in Boston's Beacon Hill neighborhood, an ocean-front home on Nantucket recently listed for sale at $25 million,[42] a $5 million ski retreat in Idaho, a $4 million estate in Fox Chapel, Pennsylvania, near the Heinz family's home base of Pittsburgh, and a $5 million home in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, D.C.[citation needed]

Politics[edit]

Like her first husband, Heinz was a registered Republican for most of her voting life, and she remained a registered Republican despite being married to Kerry. In January 2003, she changed her registration to the Democratic Party..."

^You don’t have Kamala Harris in that poll.

Ooops, nevermind

I wouldn't trust polls these days.  We all saw what happened in 2016 and this primary season has given us numerous upsets that defied all the polling, such as Andrew Gillum in Florida, Ocasio-Cortez in New York, and Ayanna Pressley in Massachusetts.   The polls showed all this folks losing by double digits.

He may or may not run, but he is absolutely testing the waters.

>He may or may not run, but he is absolutely testing the waters.

The bad thing about Kerry even "testing" the waters is that it gives Trump an opportunity to crack wise about someone who is difficult not to laugh at regardless of political affiliation.

He is the poster child for Democratic ineptitude.

Kerry and Hillary should be lashed together and dropped in deep water.

I’m not for murdering Kerry or Hillary but the retirement age certainly needs to be enforced at some point. If Ted Kennedy was alive he might be thinking about a run too which wouldn’t be good either.

Time for some new blood who hasn’t 100% sold out to special interests and big business yet.

There are few if any that will read this post who spent more time & energy working for Kerry than myself, I'm disappointed, some of his remarks this evening were beneath him...truth be known I have been disappointed for some time.  In 2004 we were all trying to stop a war, 14 years later I realize he is the absolute definition of globalization and a neoconservative in sheep's clothing.  I'm sure he loves every moment of his book tour.

>I’m not for murdering Kerry or Hillary

 Of course not.

But crustaceans need to eat too.

Jerry Brown should run. I feel like he could stomp Trump and he's got solid experience. Say what you will about California, but it's essentially a global power all on its own and he's managed to (at very least) keep that ship afloat. Also one of the few politicians who has had the balls to actually take a clear and progressive stance against Trump.

Brown/Harris

Bring it !

Brown is a mixed bag for sure. He has a long list of detractors. People in CA are going crazy just over the gas tax. I'm sure the Moonbeam moniker would be bandied about nationally to discredit him. Balanced the fucking budget mess that the shit bag Arnie left the state. And yeah, he's not afraid to speak his mind, but as he is meeting with carbon traders currently....that also is a sham a lama...

What's up, Turtle? :) Yeah, I can see how a native Californian like yourself would have a much clearer picture of who Brown is and isn't, but in the game of politics (symbolism, image, etc) I feel he could really bring a powerful force to the scene. Add Harris as VP like Mule suggested? Unstoppable. Any other candidate will get whomped by Trump, and unfortunately the dems still haven't learned (or don't want to learn) their lesson. They'll almost certainly back Biden and he will almost certainly lose. Damn shame, but that's my prediction anyways...
