I think the scene accepts
I think the scene accepts people of many types without too much judgement, therefore if you are quirky or a little off, you find a place here that is used to the weird side of things and you feel at home, or at least that you are in familiar territory. Hearing voices or having hallucinations is nothing new to us, so accepting such into the circle is a natural assimilation.
