Jorma solo Denver last night 2.19.18

Forums:

So refreshing to have a sit down show in a room full of respectful listeners. Jorma was quite relaxed and happy.

He played beautifully .

Nice picture.

You can see him again solo (in Colorado) at the end of August at NedFest. Hot Tuna Saturday night. Jorma acoustic Sunday.

I'm guessing one guitar in standard tuning and one in "G".

It’s a beautiful thing.

Nobody knows you when you're down and out

SF Bay Blues.

It's a very nice photograph.

Seems like all went well Twang.

Jorma really sets the pace of his good shows, when he (or Hot Tuna) open with True Religion. Things get down right stomping when 99 Year Blues rolls around.

Sweet picture. Sounds like a great show. Glad you had a good time man.

Loved it since Jorma moved over the Martin guitars.

nice shot!

Jorma is the man.

My first show, back in 1976 was hot F" Tuna, late show and have been on the journey with Jorma ever since. Fortunate to have seen every incarnation ofJorma solo and with bands/people since.  I go knowing he rotates about the same 30 or so songs 98% of the time and hope to hear a break out of a new song or the dusting off of an old gem, unplayed in public for many years.  Sleep Song was one that is now in regular rotation.  Still hope to hear Sally Where You Get Your Liquor From or even Surphase Tension on acoustic (minus the phase shifter) or a break out of Hammer Promenade but even after all these years, there is nothing like a Jorma concert!

I miss the Ovation sound.  Sure Jorma sounds more "pristine" with the Martin but the Ovation years, phlanger and phase shifter days are still my favorite.  Great photo and thanks for posting

Here's a little taste....Sea Child got cut....

I didn't tape the show, just captured a little with my phone sticking out of my pocket. Just audio.

Caught Hot Tuna on an unusually cold night here last month (Sunshine Music Fest  to be exact, with TTB), and these guys blew me away with professionalism and just still having so much fun playing together- whew, what a treat.

Who knew Jack and Jorma met in high school? I 'spose that put's these 'ol buddies together now around 50 years? And just killin' it. ;-)

Earl you making the run to orlando next week?

Yes, Joseph- will call for a possible pre-gamer. 'Twould be nice to see you and Betsy.

I am seeing Jorma in March at the Suffolk Theater and Hot Tuna is playing the Great South Bay Music Festival here in July.

I keep reading John Denver in the thread title.

I saw a Jorma dinner theater gig once. I think BM was with him.
