JRAD Frost 10/13

Forums:

I will be coming from Petaluma

after work :(  Trying to leave around 3pm

Did Billy Strings at Frost start right at 6?

what time to be in line by?

Is there free parking at the Frost?

Who all going?!

An opener "Fruit bat" was announced the other day, I doubt JRAD starts until 6:45/7:00

Billy Started at about 6:30 each night.   As noted in the other thread, getting into the the show was very different each night.   Got there at about 5:30 the first night and walked right in with no line.  Go there around five the next night and the line was super long in both locations.   The "secret" entrance took longer than the main one as there were more gates at the main one.

Emily said her friends lined up maybe around 3:30 the first night to get FOB.

Highly recommend to bring a blanket to stake your claim.  My biggest regret and ended up trying to fend people off.  One woman asked me if she could sit where I was standing.  It was very weird.  "You mean...where I'm sitting?".  My friends would go to the bathroom and the vultures would pounce on any open piece of grass.   That was the second night which was sold out (I assume).  First night was a breeze, no issues.   So just depends on how many tix they sell.

My first experience there and I loved it over all.  One of my favorite venues.  More so than redrocks.   Just a great vibe and feel to the space.

I took lyfts and walked from the hotel so I can't answer parking questions.

Thanks very much for the detailed reply!

Duly noted!

glad about an opener, Woz... that will give me some wiggle room

Glad you enjoyed your run of Strings, Zang!!!

they announce gates open at 5:00 but it's pretty consistently 5:15

yes there is free parking - all the staff and visitor lots are free on weekends and after 4 during the week

the closest are probably Roth Way Garage (toward the med ctr from Frost), Knight Center Garage (the other direction), and my favorite, "L-93" next to Maples Pavilion.

I understand they'll let just about anyone stay in Professorville, so maybe we can park there.

The opener is listed as Fruit Bats solo (Eric D. Johnson). He's been a JRAD guest several times and played in a Phil band, I believe.

Thanks for the parking tip!

Drove into SF last night and parked near Chase Center to see Peter Gabriel... street parking around was $40 meter for 4 hours

Damn, that was a fun night. The Frost is really nice when its not full.

The song remains the same.

That was a fantastic show. Song remains the Same encore was pretty epic!
