Karma is .... Capitol Theater balcony version

Forums:

In Feb 23, there was a long thread about my seat neighbor, Joe, in the 1st row of the loge at a Phil show at The Cap. The music started and Joe stood up.

What followed was an increasingly abusive tirade from the guy seated directly behind me. Joe was blocking his view of Phil.

As I wrote at the time, I understood both sides of the story, but Joe was very chill and cool about it. "It's a Phil show and I want to dance" The guy in the 2nd row was quite an unlikable dick.

It went on for the entire first song first set.

Finally, in sympathy with Joe, I stood up too. Joe really appreciated me getting his back and 2nd row guy turned his abuse to me. Finally security chilled the guy out, I sat down and Joe got to dance.

When I found myself with 2 extras for the 3/6 Q show, I did considerable detective work and tracked Joe down on Reddit.

It was Grate to reconnect. He and his woman were a few rows behind me, I was in the 2nd row.

Here is the karma part: the guy directly in front of me had wide shoulders - could have been a wrestler or starting tackle.

He stood up the entire show :-> Blocking my view of Phil.

I just smiled .... karma is.

introspection + karma = well done (tips hat)

Nod, I saw the guy in the collard shirt all nite on the 6th, I was row a left center balcony 27,25 aisle seats. I always ask the folks behind me if I am invading their view, the guy behind me this nite said " no worries little lady, what are you all but 5 ft" ...lol ! I was still aware and tried to sit alot.

Glad you had a good nite...I danced myself sore today....not complaining <3

hey at least Donster didn't miss the monkey act sitting behind that guy...

"November 21, 1970 - From a series of photographs depicting the Grateful Dead at Boston University's Sargent Gym. Opening for the Dead was a vaudeville chimpanzee act and the New Riders of the Purple Sage."

I saw The Q twice this week ....nothin gonna pop THAT bubble. All good

Laughing so hard, I can't breath, Lance....

Good one, Lance.

At a Providence Civic Center GD show in spring 1986, I had these 3 or 4 big guys sitting together in the row right in front of me in front orchestra blocking my view. I asked one if they would mind sitting down. He turned around, looked at me very oddly and said they were sitting. After a few songs they cleared out the row and went back stage to hang out.

(((((karma is the guy on the chiefs)))))

FOREVER Q

FOREVER Q  works for me!

Top notch thread.yes

If you are at any type of Dead or upbeat Rock and Roll show and you expect to bring down the vibe and have people around you sit down because of your lack of positive or appropriate energy, you need to just stay home. Everybody wins if that happens. Hope that doesn't sound too negative but let's face it, it's true.

Agreed, Starkdar.

The guy behind me & Joe in Feb had no vibe at all.

I can't stand for long periods, but The Cap has old fashioned padded theater seats that fold up. I was able to fold my seat up and sit on it to mostly see. Not exactly comfy....

Hurt my ass for the Q!

100% agreement from someone who sometimes cant stand for significant portions of some shows and either have my view blocked or it hurts like hell.

way more enjoyable to deal with a blocked view than the shitty experience that would result from negatively impacting those around me
