we had 2 cats for 15 years and both passed within a month of each other in March It's our philosophy is to get 2 cats at a time so they attack each other and not my ankles or fingers so far it's working

Yes. And they will often be bonded and when they are not trying to kill each other in amazing feats of wrestlemania they will lay in a pile and lick each others' heads.
