I don't know much of anything about basketball, but I can't understand why Wembanyama isn't always under or around the basket on offense. He's simply too tall and athletic for anyone to stop him there. Any time I see him around the 3-point line I think he's doing the Knicks a favor.
But they won this one, so what do I know.
I want to root for the Knicks because of all the true fans who have suffered with them for so long, but then I remember who owns them and that the orange shithead likes them, so how can anyone root for them?
A clutch performance by the Spurs tonight, it should be mildly interesting to see how it plays out.
I haven't been following the NBA in the post-Warriors post-season. I did see a fair amount last night, pulling for the Spurs (and wanting to see the Knicks lose in Trump's face). I don't dislike the Knicks the way I do the Yankees, but I didn't want to see a sweep. A lot of players on both teams capable of driving to the hoop, but also a lot of good defense. I thought the Spurs' offense looked lazy toward the end when they could've put the game away. A lot of standing around and 3-point attempts (though they did make one). Maybe they were tired, and maybe they were expending their energy on D.
They want Wemby to be the new young face of the NBA, but seeing him standing around near the end, I thought of Curry's constant movement off the ball. I am impressed the gangly kid can survive such a physical game.
