Curious, wondering what makes this bad taste for you?

Ongoing tragedy

Neighbors in trauma and homeless feels icky rocking out to?

drop and give us 10,000.

Making light of a truly horrific situation.   From afar.

You can't hide class.

Thank you for your explanations.

Would it be an okay release of tension, horror and fear for some to make a list? I think so. And it might also be bad taste.

Bss, you can't hide class, and you can't fabricate it.

Thanks, Mark. I agree.

This is an absolute f**king tragedy, where whole communities of people have lost everything, EVERYTHING! and many had their insurance cut off just months ago.

I thought about speaking up, but I've been trying to keep my opinions to myself as part of my effort to stay off social media. And I chose not to be affected by HD's thread.

But I'm glad Mark spoke up. Thank you, Mark.

But yeah, seems out of place and bad timing. To answer Judit, if people affected wanted to do a list, that's one thing. This was another.

I thought about answering with "Help!" from the Beatles, "Boulder to Birmingham" by Emmylou, "Everybody Hurts" (Hold On!) from REM, stuff like that. But I passed.

Whatever. Different strokes.

Glad to see the resilience and love from the people in and near LA. But still, FUCK the Dodgers!

>>> if people affected wanted to do a list, that's one thing. This was another. <<<

Thanks for the distinction and the rest of your post, Slickrock. Thanks for coming by and speaking up.

It's important to me that I pay attention and learn from y'all. I'm naive and also reactive, and it's important to me that I hear where you're seeing/feeling things from.

Love.

Don't let it bring you down
It's only castles burning
Find someone who's turning
And you will come around

and yes, it is way too early for a song list IMO. :(

LOL at the Philzone Pharisees.  You could have asked me what my motivation and intentions were with this thread, but instead you went straight to judging and piling on.  Classic gaslighting and virtue signaling there folks.

I lived in L.A. for six years.  I used to go grade student's homework at the high point of the coastal trail in Pacific Palisades on weekends, before usually exploring San Pedro and looking for some good ethnic cuisine.  It tears me up that so many have lost so much.   I am hoping they stop the fires and start rebuilding people's lives soon.

My motivation for starting this thread came from one of my online customers from L.A. ordering a couple of pricey original issue with original mix Megadeth CDs, and thinking those were interesting choices given the circumstances, but that I would probably listen to something else, so I brainstormed my original list.

I was trying to be respectful of the tragedy, and create a list around the stages of a fire.  The Wheel was first, because the reality is that this is still going on, but eventually things will change and we'll enter a new reality.   It also has the line "if the thunder don't get you then the lightning will", a nod to the possible origin of the inferno.

So, thanks for asking.   Don't fall out of your high chairs.

Just a little old fashioned free speech on the Zone, same as it ever was... Everybody experiences this in their own way. If you still have a place to sleep I guess it's easy to think up a cool playlist.

Lots of people hurting though, so thoughts to them.

How about a "healing vibes" playlist, Dave? What you got?

Your intentions maybe got lost in interpretation, Dave. Did not mean to offend you. It just struck me as inappropriate. .

I agree with MarkD

lame thread herbaldave....maybe switch back to the java

would be nice to see mikeedwards pick happen

Feh

Knew it'd be a thread by him
