Nice work, Lance. I was stumped on ZZ Top, the Doobie Brothers and Tower Of Power. In retrospect, I should have picked out ZZ Top. Dusty Hill and his bass are a big tell.
You all probably know all these guys individually, but who remembers the band?
Sorry for the bad pictures, but there aren't too many pictures of these bands during their very early years. Hint, both bands went on under different names to become legends of hard rock/heavy metal.
Nice job Doolittle, you almost got them all. Apparently, the second photo in the string I posted stumped everyone. That's the New York City band Dust, who straddled the line between Blues Rock, Heavy Metal. and Prog Rock. Look carefully at the guy on the right. That's Marc Bell, who went on to play in Estus, Richard Hell and the Voidoids, and most famously in the Ramones, where he was known as Marky Ramone. The Dust albums show that he is an exceptional drummer, and that he dumbed down his style to play in the Ramones. Dust also featured bassist Kenny Aaronson, who also went on to garner some acclaim.
I do not have a copy, digital or otherwise of the Tim Davis Pipe Dream album right now, Joe. Had a nice copy of the record come through my store, but it sold earlier this year. Only copy I can recall ever seeing.
Buddy of mine grew up in Chicago. Back in the late 50's, Peter Cetera saw my friend being bullied and intervened, apparently he was a tough kid. He chased the bullies off and warned them not to mess with my buddy anymore.

Tim Davis was a founding member and the original drummer of The Steve Miller Band. This is his 1972 solo debut, Pipe Dream. It's worth seeking out.
