I just got a call from a guy from the Link Wray fan club who wondered it I could carve him a historical marker out of stone to put outside Wray's old recording studio in Maryland.
Being a John Cipollina fan, who cites Wray as a major influence, I said "sure."
Be cool if it happens.

"While living in the San Francisco Bay Area in the early 1970s, Wray was introduced to Quicksilver Messenger Service guitarist John Cipollina by bassist James "Hutch" Hutchinson.[12] He subsequently formed a band initially featuring special guest Cipollina along with the rhythm section from Cipollina's band Copperhead, bassist Hutch Hutchinson, and drummer David Weber. ...] He later did numerous concerts and radio broadcasts in the Bay Area including KSAN and the Bill Graham venue Winterland Ballroom, with Les Lizama later replacing Hutchinson on bass."

Very nice, Alan. That would be cool, and a nice honor for you.
Didn't someone just do a documentary about Link Wray and his influence on rock guitarists? Maybe it was a thing I saw about Native Americans somewhere.
Anyway, here's this. https://ig.ft.com/life-of-a-song/rumble.html

Raz , thanks but I haven't scored the gig yet. I knew Wray played around DC (way before my time) but I never knew he had a 3track studio in an old chicken shack in Southern Maryland. But I'm keeping my fingers crossed he calls back.
I actually suggested he get a metal worker to do the job as they might want a rendition of a Danelectro Longhorn guitar. Due to engineering concerns (weight, breakage), that's not really a contender for stone.
I would prefer to sell him something I already have:
The guy liked the amp part, since Wray is known as a pioneer of distortion.
Maybe he could put it on a pillar with a nice plaque attached.
